well let it this is not your problem let them who get paid to sort problems out do it .....themailman wrote:At 35% in our office, that's a huge minority. With no HCT's and only 1 walk under a mile from the office our office will collapse.blacov wrote:I believe hiring extra vans is a must in the current situation. Non driving colleagues are minority anyway in most offices. They can cover hct walks and the rest of staff should go out in a van.
Variable starting time also should be in place to reduce number of people at one time in the office. Its going to cost extra money and efficiency certainly dropping a little but most companies are making a loss and Royal Mail should be able to at least break even as their revenue doesn't necessarily dropped.

It's all well and good coming up with new ways of working but no one seems to have given any thought to the fact that all these delivery companies out there delivering none essential items for man and beast is potentially spreading the virus faster with all the surfaces, items and customers they are coming into contact with. each day.
Utter madness all in the name of revenue and looking like you're part of some key emergency service.

How else will Mike Ashley make some money now his stores have been forced to shut?Sugar wrote:It's all well and good coming up with new ways of working but no one seems to have given any thought to the fact that all these delivery companies out there delivering none essential items for man and beast is potentially spreading the virus faster with all the surfaces, items and customers they are coming into contact with. each day.

Sorry for being a bit thick here, but I give my van-share partner a lift to work in the morning. Any idea if I can continue doing this? We spend more time travelling to and from work than we would if we were in a shared van.

If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

I would imagine RM only stopped van share to prevent culpability in not implementing control measures tokookoo32 wrote:Sorry for being a bit thick here, but I give my van-share partner a lift to work in the morning. prevent the virus spreading throughout the workforce - they can stop van shares.
If you and your colleague spread it by sharing a vehicle to work that's your lookout.

I'm sleeping in the same bed as her so I'm sharing more than a vehicle to work.....yellowbelly wrote:I would imagine RM only stopped van share to prevent culpability in not implementing control measures tokookoo32 wrote:Sorry for being a bit thick here, but I give my van-share partner a lift to work in the morning. although the offical advice is not to meet up with anyone outside of your own household, sharing a car would breach that advice for sure.yellowbelly wrote:I would imagine RM only stopped van share to prevent culpability in not implementing control measures tokookoo32 wrote:Sorry for being a bit thick here, but I give my van-share partner a lift to work in the morning. I'm meant to go back in next week, very tempted to simply walk out and go home if nothing has changed. I'm scared of my own and family's health. Yes, although I'm 22, what's not to say I can't catch the virus and pass it on to others? A mass walk-out is needed I think.

I don't mind working through this as long as the recommended measures of distancing and hand washing/sanitising can be employed.
If there is no hand sanitiser forthcoming within the next day or two, I might just start taking multiple trips back to the DO in order to properly wash my hands, as recommended. Oh, and working to my time!
