Suspended deliveries

You will have seen the update from Royal Mail on social distancing (being at least 2 metres apart) and the cessation of shared vans.

This is for immediate implementation. CWU Reps at all levels need to engage managers as a matter of utmost urgency. We are asking our divisional reps to coordinate this activity and provide us with a branch by branch report by the close of play today.

If these things are not in place you should not be working and the union will support any member who takes this position.

As an absolute minimum they should’ve told us all to stay home today. Offices are falling behind anyway, a quiet Tuesday wouldn’t have added that much.

All management could then have formed a plan. I appreciate most offices are small as it is but there must be a way of moving frames apart. Put tape on the floor to show where to stand when queuing for specials etc.

It can be done, it just needs managers to MANAGE! Stand at your frame, do not move away from it. Every so often, your name is called and you take your missorts etc to the IPS. Same with collecting packets, collecting specials etc - instead of a free for all with everyone collecting theirs at the same time on top of each other m, have a coordinated plan - round 1 leaves his frame, goes collects it and returns. Round 2 then collects and so on.
