I imagine D2D’s will pretty much stop in the coming weeks anyway whatever else happens. Who is going to book advertising campaigns when everyone is being told only leave your home when you really have to and everyday more and more shops are announcing they are closing. Might get them for another few weeks if contracts can’t be cancelled but after that it will pretty much cease I reckon. It did make me laugh last week when someone said one of their D2D’s was for a cruise company, as if anyone is sat at home right now thinking it would be a wonderful idea to book a cruise.

I think you're right .... Households will probably dry up. They have never made sense though, they reckon they're Targetted but that's obviously crap. How many times have you delivered Conservatory Households to Blocks of Flats, ot things like Double Glazing & New Boiler Deals to Army Quarters!

Perhaps if they were a bit better Targetted they'd be a lot more successful .... In the meantime I get paid to deliver them, so that's what I do.

Some of the D"Ds have probably been ordered and paid for by customers weeks ago. D2D won't fully go, there will still be the odd government one

I'm somewhat concerned that Britain hasn't taken steps to impose a stricter lockdown procedure as is the case in other countries. The number of deaths here will surpass 300 in the next day or so. Spain, France, Italy and other European nations have warning announcements from emergency service patrols on the streets. Here's one in Germany:

I don't get this tribe of posties who go on about us just posting things that nobody wants. Getting fed up of it. Why are you people in a job which you think is absolutely pointless, making out we just deliver junk mail all the time.

I assume we, Royal Mail, are the ones that are delivering these 1.5million letters to the vulnerable who need to know what's going on!

I thought I also read somewhere that Royal Mail may also be delivering some of these food parcels to these vulnerable people, but don't quote me on it.

We also deliver NHS medicines. You know - those blue and white large matchbox sized cardboard packages.

Yes we deliver a lot of nonsense too, but why ignore everything positive we deliver.

Very true, and if this "nonsense" stuff isn't going to be delivered then that's more pressure on businesses, and will likely lead to an even further reduction in the employed, and even more people put into the ever-dwindling jobs market.
Just deliver the pizza leaflets, no-one GAF anyway.

Exactly that ^^

H&S is out the window and huge corners being cut every day,just to finish a little earlier. And by earlier i mean still way over time. And this is daily, pre corona virus. And with corona virus making life even more hard work, one can't help but be demoralised, knowing we could be doing a better job for the people.
