Where is Rico!!!! Update 23 March : Found him!
Read that earlier and my comment was that it is a load of wank!! No indication of any care for the well-being of the staff, just the well-being of his bank account.
Royal Mail
failing the workforce, failing the public and deliberately failing mail on a daily basis for too many years.

Disaster capitalism. Even if he hadn't said it, you know he's thinking it.Spartacus wrote:And there you have it, he sees this as an opportunity.

I wish this were true but, unfortunately, capitalism isn't going anywhere. We had many chances to vote it out, but greed and lies won out. All the measures currently in place to "protect" workers by keeping the economy flowing will see to that: it's all designed so that we can return to a "BAU" mindset afterwards ...Poole70 wrote: Rico doesn't seem to realise that this virus changes everything...goodbye to the greedy capitalists in their ivory towers...goodbye dividends...

There's still more the government needs to do...there will be extra stimulus and guarantees over the coming days...don't forget that this a conservative government that has basically embarked on a previously unimaginable social partnership adventure...the premise being that individuals are not to blame for the crisis and need to be financially supported to stop the economy tanking completely ... this isn't just a bank bailout...this reaches into every home in the country...I can't see an easy or natural return to business as usual any time soon, it is just not possible in an economy where there could be at least 30% unemployment without increased state aid to individuals...the asset strippers are gonna be out of business...dividends are gone for years to come ...I actually sense from Rico's "correspondence" that he's a bit miffed at us being classed as key workers and an essential part of UK infrastructure ...that makes it harder for him to rip it all up and sell all the bits off to the highest bidder...today we have seen , almost as an side piece , the government nationalise the railways (ie rip up franchise commitments and pay bills)...there is currently no exit strategy from this situation...there's even talk of delaying Brexit for as much as 5 years...anyway , sorry for waffling , I just think there's a lot more to happen that could make "business as usual" a distant memory...

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Please change the title of this thread. We have not found him. Has he been inside a single office, mail centre etc to check on the working conditions of his employees or give support over the last month?

It's a fair point, we have a ransom note that may or may not have been written by him and a stock photo that looks years old .
I say we ask for a pic of him holding today's newspaper as proof of life before we fork out the cash to get him back.
