Can we start a new union?

Post by blobneb »

The CWU have done nothing about coronavirus and I'm sick of the silence. We have so much more in common with Amazon drivers than the likes of BT at this time. We need a union that's fit for purpose and represent us as a class of worker. The CWU have shown their true colours and we all deserve better.

Yes, RM should be looking to change the way we work right now but they will not, so the Union should be holding RM to account on this urgent issue. Silence from both parties.

Now that is absolute rubbish. That really has nothing to do with the state the country (and world) is now in.

France have suspended all deliveries until further notice from now. Italy's state owned postal service union is calling for action as they are still working and two have now died.

I expect service on rounds will be every other day shortly , as they can't be staffed.

Work to your Times Mate ... They cannot force you to take out Lapsing if it takes you over your Finish Time. :cuppa

I agree we'll probably be doing different duties depending on whose in ... and what duties they know  That should be Fun... I know some of the "Old & Bold" haven't done a different duty for the last DECADE!

Time for your DOM to start printing off Walk Maps and making notes on Bundling Up! :cuppa

Damn straight. I'll be finishing on time for sure. I'm not going to expose myself to more customers than I need to. And wear myself out with fatigue or get rained on if the weather is bad. Finish my last loop, sign out and off home to Netflix and chill.

Still think we're more at risk in the office than outdoors. It's the indoor work that needs modifying so the whole office isn't on top of each other.

By now I hope your Office has taken steps to distance people within the Office? Yesterday all the DOMs should have been briefed on the latest from RM High Command. Of particular impact is the "NO SHARED VANS" decision. :thumbup

Within the DO we've also started using ever other IPS Frame, rotating several different "Shifts" of IPS workers. Also asking staff to see if they want to Move their Working Day, either earlier, or later. I can't see a problem with people wanting to start earlier (apart from the fact there's not going to be any mail). Don't think they're going to have many takers for starting, and finishing later, though. :hmmmm

I feel the BIG problem with dealing with this crisis is the fact that a lot of it requires COMMON SENSE, and that's something that's in even shorter supply than Bog Roll in this Company. And that includes the Management and a lot of the Staff! :cuppa

When I go back too work next week. It is impossible for me too work late. Me and my misses both key workers (use that term loosely for me). I still got too pick my son up from nursery. So I'm high risk of being infected then I've got too walk into a nursery every day. I hope it's all worth It for them D2D's
