Postman d I wouldn't have thought so. From day 1, whenever underlying health conditions have been mentioned diabetes is near the top of the list. I have type 2 but we are purely collateral damage in the eyes of the Management. Those at the top don't give a sh?? about us, only about covering their poxy duties.
Strength in numbers really, 75% of the workforce saying, enough is enough would do the trick. Socially isolating as the Government recommends.
6pm headlines from Italy are quite scary really and the age of those affected is getting down into the 40s over there.

What to do please , I have what I fell is either mild systems of this virus or just flu ? for last couple of days . I am classed at high risk as diabetic type 2 ( nhs site ) like most of us I enjoy my job but not RM as they have no respect for us in the slightest. my question is should I be going in tomoz ? as may just be mild flu & don't want managers saying I'm just jumping on the sick for no reason band wagon if i take 7 days off and it was just flu ? I don't mind going to work with a touch of flu we have all done it from time 2 time like all of us I have bills to pay but as I'm classed as higher risk is it worth it ?

This virus is clearly pandemic but instead of the government imposing an instant 2 to possibly 4 week UK lockdown that will really limit the spread and seriously flatten this 'curve', they instead have resorted to measures that they think will save money instead of lives instead. It could cost them more in the long term as more people get infected and in turn infect others. Have all these NHS workers been tested yet or do they still have inadequate equipment to deal with their patients?? If we don't have enough ventilators then why are we still playing russian roulette with people's lives? bumbling Boris is still telling people to self-isolate when people are already queuing up and mass scavenging at supermarkets!! Er doh!!!

I struggle to see why us Royal Mail workers are classed as 'key workers'. In fact we work less than one metre alongside each other on our frames or on IPS indoors and then we go and affect the public with the parcels we leave on the step because apparently the virus can exist on cardboard for up to 24 hours. Royal mail are just as bad giving workplace huddles - do these managers have no f##king common sense?? That's why I'm not holding my breath (literally) for Royal Mails measures but if I'm honest the government is just to blame. All that spiel about supporting businesses by paying it's workers 80% of wages, we want to know if full sick pay will apply to us key workers without us being hassled or questioned. If you have to self isolate for 14 days because you think your partner's has possibly got coronas,how do we prove it when our NHS is that overstretched that it can't even test themselves??

Without evidence or fit notes all the company will do is take it out of our annual leave. I'm so grateful that we have jobs for this caring, compassionate company
