I don't blame you, considering that the death toll in the UK has jumped to 233 today.

I took a D2D today to a house and as I stuffed it through the letterbox a little toddler came flying round the door and grabbed it. I tried to grab it back but too late. It left me upset all day thinking I could have just passed some horrible disease to a child so a piece of shitty advertising got delivered.

As you say Viking its about preservation and survival now in my opinion. Think ive had enough

No. I'm not terrified, and I refuse to be. Yes, it's a serious threat, but with measures taken in social distancing and isolation, the threat can be overcome.
We've already started with the wider community, it's now up to RM to employ these measures within the business...for better or worse..

I still keep an open mind. The situation could be either less or worse than the media portrays...

The media are giving you the information. Please listen.

Tens of thouands *will* die, old and young, here in the UK, within weeks. That's the Government's *best case* scenario.

If RM don't look after us in the next few days, then STAY HOME. Good luck.

I'm not terrified, I just want to know what provisions are going to be in place to maintain some reasonably safe level of service when it actually hits our office (and TBF others) proper.

Lack of provision in dealing with this could lead RM to make the problem worse. Lack of information on near future provision means we're all less practised in whatever those provisions are.

If things continue as they are, in every respect, people will die. It is no longer a question of If but when for 80% of us (If we are lucky). It is a case of survival of the fittest until they find a vaccine. I hope a year from now I will not be saying I told you so but what other possible outcome can there be umless the Government take drastic action as some other countries have taken.

This needs sorting and quick. I’m so close to walking out, it’s not just my family that I worry for it’s my colleagues and customers that I worry for to. I have my own hand gel but no gloves and non provided. Honestly some people not taking this threat as they should.

Absolutely agree with you all. I have been asking myself the very same question. As far as I am out delivering I feel safeish but preparing deliveries in the office makes me very worried. We are neck to neck sorting letters and parcels. Walking around with yorks and loading in often small crammed yards and then there are van share duties. Sick rate in our DO is already high. I believe if RM will not ramp up safety measures more people will go off sick. Either to recover from symptoms or just for better self protection.

If you are terrified of going to work, surely that could be classed as stress & anxiety, even your mental health which RM have been promoting? Take you pick.

Will be honest, when it first started out in China. I was one of then people oh it's just a flu. But I soon came too realise this is something different and took it seriously. If people still think its flu need too wake up they are putting people at risk.

Royal Mail will regret this in the long run, it's completely negligent. I suggest anyone worried take their annual leave now. (least you'll be paid, for now)

I understand they're playing catchup like many but they need to think faster.

Some suggestions:

- Vulnerables and people living with vulnerables need strong consideration. (From Monday we'll have a definitive list on this I hope) Noone should have to choose between spreading this thing to their family or getting a wage. The government has failed key workers who live with vulnerables. There seems to be no mention, other than 'try and avoid'.

Work place conditions are shocking. No social distancing in place, no provisions. Priority should be given to essential goods only. People couped up together in an office is just waiting for a total shutdown. It's not so bad on delivery, you can look after your own hygiene and avoid the public for the most part. (Van sharing is an issue though) I fear the only solution is to run a skeleton framework based on strict self assessment. The job cannot carry on as normal, it will not work.

All the best to everyone, hopefully we see more support in the next weeks.
