Wouldnt you think they would hold back on D2Ds...

These still are a priority with Royal Mail through this period of uncertainty. Its ok relaxing the 1pm timed deliveries but with 4 d2ds coming in for next week it doesn't surprise me. They should be reducing any indoor work as much as possible instead of an extra 20 minutes of d2d prep time each day. I know its revenue but sometimes you do wonder. Even a maximum of 1 leaflet is ok.

Why would anyone want to spend longer on delivery?
Being indoor is the worst place to be. This is why over 50 people have self isolated at our mail centre. We have 2 on part isolation due to bad health but they have agreed to meet their partner on duty as they want to avoid being indoors.
How would it be longer on delivery? It would actually slightly reduce outdoor work with not having door to doors to deliver. Its about doing their bit but still getting mail delivered.

Report on the radio saying somewhere, think in USA, the sewers were becoming blocked because people were using papers and magazines etc as toilet roll as its sold out lol. That's the best use for D2Ds

I hope the press see this thread (anyone got any links to the media?)

4 lots for us next week, absolutely disgusting and utterly irresponsible from RM, completely flies in the face of all the advice on social distancing and unnecessary contact.

4 lots means around 15-20 minutes a day spent indoors prepping them in close contact with potentially infectious colleagues, then posting leaflets through every household even though it's now been proven that the virus can survive for at least 24 hours on paper surfaces.

You ever thought of applying to become a Royal Mail manager, I think you have potential.

of course, i will happily take this crap ( which nobody is bothered about buying and within the next week physically wont be able to buy anyway) to a house which normally receives no mail and potentially kill the occupants, :d'oh! :arrrghhh

If we are key workers we should be delivering only key items not pizza leaflets and shop special offers when there is nothing in the shops anyway, only public information leaflets should be delivered as of now.

Everyone else is working at home, does a real "key" job, or are fairly isolated in their work.

Royal Mail wants situation as normal. D2Ds and adverts are not needed and just add to our exposure and virus spreading.

RM is showing us all that it's not a key service and doesn't about customers.

Striking now would be good imo. It would show we are not happy with how they are behaving and their lack of care for the general public.

--Edit--

I won't be doing any D2Ds with the current situation. They are routinely expecting 2 days of mail to go out.
