That's not how the govt wage funding works. Instead a company finds it needing to lay off a large chunk of the workforce, and the govt is offering to cover 80% of the wages for 3 months so that hopefully if the economy picks up they can go back to work.

Should is the key word though what if they have no space left. Think someone asked this question yday as their child was refused due to no more being taking in.

You only get childcare if both parents are key workers. My partner earns more than me so no choice basically but to stay at home.

Not sure what to do to try and get the money that was promised to workers so they don’t get laid off due to coronavirus
