Just that this rotten company has ground us down so much, we're reluctant to go the extra mile when, like everyone, we're anxious for ourselves and our loved for ones.

Going on past form, RM is only going to pocket it and go back on all agreements when the crisis is over.

To keep the mandate active you would need to stage a one day strike and show you mean business.

Any strike ballot is only live for 6 months no matter what you do, this can be extended to 9 months with the employer's consent but that's hardly likely.

This ballot is dead in the water.

its a situation the union simply did not expect. none of us did. if we go on strike we would be the biggest bunch of shithouses in the history of ''shithouses'' if we do nothing we are giving Rico and his cronies a free hand to do what the f**k he wants. so we are effectively 'damned if we do, and damned if we dont'. what is the answer? what do we do? i don't know. i don't think anyone has the answer. but the hierarchy need to get their heads together and sort something out or we are effectively totally finished as a union. and if that happens then we are at mercy of this lot.

Nail in the coffin for the union is this. They messed up the previous ballots and now this one, although not their fault, is doomed to fail. The company are just going to use it to their own advantage. Once the all clear has been given they'll cry poor and say they need to get in their new plan or the company will go under. Can see the USO going to a 5 day service now as well.

I'm not sure if you can honestly say it's a situation the union didn't expect or know about.

The ballot opened on March 3rd, by that time we all knew pretty much that something big and bad was coming.

they are failing duties now in our office. 4 today. then they are talking about rotating the failures so duties get mail one day and not the next.

Bound to happen and expect it to get worse. I think they should have been rotating duties much sooner to limit contact with public.

I'd say its very likely we are looking at ANOTHER ballot this year around same time as last autumn's with a view of industrial action over xmas period like was supposed to happen last time

well i will still vote in another ballot. how many others will though. it was a lesser turnout this time than last. could be even less 'next time'. if we are still unionised that is.

The problems begin when they give you a thumbs down.
Are you in any way trained to deal with what might be a complex set of health and social problems?
