Try not to worry mate. Until anything is announced then there's no point In worrying. Everything on this thread is opinion and hearsay wether it be from managers or otherwise. Rico back hasn't said s**t and neither have any of his minions. If I learned anything from the recent dispute it's that anyone can talk complete and utter bullshit. No matter wether higher ups, management or union. Everyone has something to gain. Even if it were true it would prob mean being renationalised and goodbye to the current CEO.

Might they not be able to make payments ? Possibly, working for free is not an option.
Maybe they best advise the public to only mail out urgent items and even then using SD. Maybe they can run a skeleton staff to deliver these items whilst they can't pay the rest of the workforce.

The government paying 80% of wages for furloughed workers has made this sort of thing a lot easier for CEOs up and down the country. No one will end up going without pay in a business the size of Royal Mail.2yearpostie wrote:How on earth do you choose who gets paid and who goes home?

If royal mail ask for volunteers to sit at home on 80% of wages until this all starts getting sorted in think there would be plenty putting their names forward. Royal mail love trawling the internet for breaches of the online policy and people bad mouthing the company. The names of posters on here are anonymous so why don't these people name the offices and managers saying these things? I'm sure the high ups at royal mail would love to hear what they are saying and maybe chat to them about itWoody Guthrie wrote:I would advise any managers that might be lurking on here that starting any rumours about the financial viability of the company would more than likely be seen as gross misconduct given that it's a publicly listed company and if those rumours were to take hold it could affect the share price.
Just saying guys.
And yes I would stick you in it no worries.

My DOM briefed us this morning that there will be a ban on overtime soon as there's not enough money to cover the people off and overtime at the same time, they will rotate walks without cover on a daily basis instead.

Seems too obvious big companies are using this crisis to cut jobs. Disgraceful really, fat cats sit at home while the people at the opposite end are working hard through this crisis.

If that's true and if it also applies to MCs then it wouldn't take long for a back log to build up. MCs run on overtime and casuals
