I hate to tell you this, but its actually true royal mail is that close to having no money to pay its staff because of the current situation that they would probably prefer us to strike and then not have to pay us,i wont work for free i will just take the poor statuary sick pay and stay home because this company has no regard for our safety and well being so why would i work for free.
its going to get a lot worse before it gets better stay safe

Genuinely can’t believe that people believe this , you wonder how we are in the position we are as a workforce without the pandemic and then , just like that , someone comes along with such a stupid statement that I know exactly why we are......idiotic doesn’t come close

I heard on QI once that stamps are officially legal tender so if it all goes as the thread suggests, than maybe that could be the way forward for the company.
Probably the most idiotic thread I've seen on this forum, as if some of our colleagues haven't got enough to worry about at the moment without this shite been posted
(apologies to admin)

If you added up the collective number of posts from all these members with their 'apparently, from what I hear.....' bollocks you'd be lucky to get 25
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Every so often this s**t `rumour` pops up on here or some other social media site and every year it's absolute bullshit, think I first heard this s**t about 1989.
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

I can't talk for the delivery world but this last week has been fairly busy definitely more than usual and like has already been said what about the 1.8 billion investment...........what a load of shite! sorry guys in a few weeks time you won't be getting paid but we still will bully you relentlessly and we won't stop until you start doffing your caps and bowing before us........nah I think I'd just take the statutory sick pay and have a peaceful few months
nightmare financial position to be in but at least you won't be bullied!

this thread should be removed, its nothing but fear mongering created by lies in a worrying situation by someone with no facts to back it up. not impressed at all.

Thought it was quite clear that I was just attempting to unravel and debunk some of the waffle we've received from RM; just interested to know if this was
something RM are trying to circulate companywide or if it's just the DOM in our office.
Isn't that idea of these forums?
But thanks for the input - I've received more grief for this than I ever have from RM management

In the impossibly unlikely scenario that the Royal Mail’s plight is that bad, a government bailout and re-nationalisation is inevitable. Not even a Tory administration (and one that seemingly has limitless cash to spray around now) would dare let it wither at a time like this. Great news!

Why do people have to come out with this scaremongering rubbish. I bet there are the same people buying up all the food and new freezers to store it in
Some people have enough to worry about with their or family members health without people making rubbish like this up.

I *can* believe a manager would say this, to try and detract other staff from going sick. It also wouldn't surprise me if it was RM's policy to try and cut sickness in this way. Truly a morally corrupt company now at the top. Scarily dangerous too to try and force people to work with symptoms. Might be worth a little note to the media...
