It is ridiculous that they aren't testing people. Not only do you not know when you've got it you don't know when you've not got it and you don't know when you've had it.

As it stands I can't visit my elderly parents in case I have it but I'll only know I've had it if I end up breathing through a ventilator.

The tossers we have at stormont are not much better taking all there advice from boris and co. Just read a letter on belfast live local news feed an basically they are saying there will be a lot of avoidable deaths if whole place is not shut down like south of the border is..and people are saying DON'T PANIC

Think of some poor 70 year old who has a dry cough and temperature 1 to 3 weeks into their 12 week isolation. With a test they could be allowed out and about after a month..

I'm no fan of this government however, it's clear there's a lack of resources for such an event worldwide. Getting the necessary equipment and staff who can run such tests isn't something you can magic up for 60 million people.

The test kits are relatively easy to produce, the FDA in the states has brought in the big pharmaceutical companies and they're shipping millions a week. That's what you do in an emergency instead of making hard on pills.

A first year med student could run the test.

If couple need to self isolate for weeks they might need the test AND the hard-on pills.

It's a failure of imagination and leadership. There are hundreds of companies which the Coronavirus is going to put into shutdown which will probably be suitable for making the test kits, ventilators and surgical masks, all of which could bring this thing to an earlier end. Instead we have the Prime Minister Dominic Cumming and his sidekick Boris Johnson. What a shitshow.

A number of companies appear to be making tests on a large scale. One in Belfast is supplying tests to Europe and across the world. A British company is said to be making tests to export to Senegal

Some people, and I'm not suggesting any kind of cull but some people are just a waste of space.

Sometimes I'm baffled as to how this country mastered anything beyond fire and how to get 3rd degree burns from fire.

I know it's a massive generalisation but still...

Yep, and to think we face these types of people on our rounds everyday.

Customer: "My dog's friendly. It won't bite; very cuddly."
Dog: "CHOMP!"
Me: "OWWW!

Customer calling out from upstairs open window: "A package for me? And I need to sign for it? Just a second while I come down to the front door."
A minute goes by.
Customer: "Still trying to find the keys. Darn it. Can you sign it for me and leave it on the front door step (in plain view from the street) while I keep looking for my keys?"
