Been told to self isolate

Post by hivisvest »

Hi all,
Has anybody been told to self isolate? I woke up today with a fever and cold sweats unlike any I've had before. My temperature was 39.2 degrees so I called nhs 111. They said that eventhough I haven't been abroad I could have come in contact with the virus due to my job. I've been told to self isolate but don't know what to do as always hate the stress of harassment from managers. I don't want to risk anybody at the offices health but how do I tell my manager that I can't come in because a lady on the phone said. Lots of us are feeling crap but nobody wants to be the first one to leave because of all the hassle it will cause

DO NOT GO IN TO WORK.

Everyone in your household needs to stay at home for 14 days. Follow the advice. No employee is going to get in trouble for doing so.

This is serious, do not muck about. And look after youself, get well soon.

Also heard a doctor today advising people not to use Ibuprofen as a pain killer if they get the virus, it has an associated risk. Best do your own research or seek medical advice to confirm this.

My partner has been told to self isolate due to underlying health conditions, doctor said I should self isolate too even though I'm perfectly fine.

Rang DO this afternoon to tell them the news, they were fine with it. Said they would put it down as I'm self isolating on the system, guess they have that option now.

They reckon this virus will not peak for another 12/13 weeks, I’m waiting until the weather picks up :nana

Don’t feel bad. The virus is spread mostly by people who think they’re fine. You should stay home like Boris says.

I'm told to avoid using Ibuprofen because of my asthma so makes sense due to it being an illness that affects the airways.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

I'm in self isolation also. Rang up Monday morning and told them that I won't be in. Getting worried though has I haven't heard from them since. I expecting them to screw me over and not pay me. Also been thinking do you need too keep in contact with then will in isolation. I can't see the point in ringing up just too say hi boss still in isolation :hmmmm

I'm in a similar position, I'm fine but my wife is going to have to self isolate for the next 4 months or so while she undergoes chemotherapy, she says I should go off with stress incase they don't pay me .

Im in the same position as others here. My wife has been told to self isolate for the foreseeable future due to being part of this vulnerable group. I wrote to my MP for advice on what the partners/families of these people should do. Got a stock response. Go about your days, wash hands, don't touch your face and self isolate if you get symptoms. Pretty much ignored my point. Stuck in limbo it seems.
