Well I agree with most people here, I thought it would go this way, but I was hoping for a closer vote. I'm seriously considering coming out of the CWU. I'm not sure if they are any better than some of RM managers. It's such a s**t deal.

I'm with a lot of others, I'll be looking a lot harder for another job. We've already had people who crossed the line moaning about some of the things that have been bought in to the office.

Lets see what these people who voted yes think in a years time, when that have flexibility, monthly pay, banked hours, different start and finish times., and of course no pay rise next year or the year after, and finally when they retire and inflation is more than 5% they're be taking a cut in pension pay every year.

lovejoy you quoted in your reply to me earlier that 80000 voted yes, no 80000 voted 51000 voted yes and 29000 voted no, so some delivery staff have voted it in but not 80000 delivery staff.

What happens to the union now? I would always support strike action but after this alot of people would think twice about doing it again.We've gained nothing.

Guys just because lost one fight we haven't lost the war. We start doing our job correctly, ie weighing our bags, taking a breaks, trying to do 20% d-t-d.

Hi everyone - We are gonna have to live with it (Those that are stayin'!), we all have to support and work with our local CWU reps and make sure WE get a vote on any local or major changes that RM want to saddle us with. AND we must write off that 1.5% in April - forget about it, and make sure RM dont shaft us with unsustainable changes. Changes that make our jobs even harder than now.

I'm sorry, I don;t usually criticise my fellows on this site. But leaving the Union is not an option - WE ARE THE UNION!!!

Oh, and if people like LOVEJOY are allowed to flourish we should give them our fullest support (is that a word - Fullest?).

our dom has also said he wont go back to 5.00 sat starts. dont see what the f*** it has to do with him though. if it's in the agreement then 5.00 it is.
our office seems to be the same as every other as well. everyone promising to vote no. pass me a black armband someone. very bad day indeed.

I thought the result would be a narrow squeak in favour of a yes...but bloody hell, can't these people actually think for themselves or have they blithely believed all they've seen in the BS DVD's and cock and bull they've been told about "flexibility" maybe it because I feel let down now that I'm angry but 46000 people not voting is a lot of people. Dark day indeed for the Royal Mail as a public service, and the CWU as a union with a voice...I hope Mr Hayes and Mr Ward are satisifed with splitting the Union down the middle with this....I can see a lot of offices being battered with new garbage as they've either got a very poor local representaion or no representaion.

I voted no but it was always going to be a yes because people felt let down by their union (not local union), remember way forward no one admitted voting for that ? I personally think the union is going to lose a lot of trust and the will from the majority of posties a lot of them were not prepared to walk again ? as ive aid many times before we had them by the balls and screwed it up because the same deal we have just accepted is what was on the table before the four day strike

yes it is a national agreement he cant make that decision....but if you let him he will get away with it....if you dont get your original times back then complain long and loud enough and make sure you get them back....that is what we will have to do with a lot of aspects of this agreement

about the same percentage that are now threatening to leave the union or the job just because something they disagree with happened. Put up or shut up you moaning gits - you can f**k off or stay and make sure it works to our advantage - if you walk out on a fight you are worse than those who voted yes.

I'm the Rep at my office and I will continue in that role until someone thinks they can do it better than me.
They can bring all their proposals to me and I'll do what I always do, which is I will disagree with their proposals until they can prove that they need to happen at my office IF people didn't cut corners to complete.
Now, we've had The Unions little band wagon about doing the job properly but most of the idiots that I work with (and I don't call my members that lightly) decided not to toe the line and so RM think there is fat to be cut from my office.
Well my call to them is come down and Firstly PROVE IT and Secondly MAKE YOUR NEW PLANS WORK because I for one will be standing back smiling because I've tried to drum it into the membership that this day was coming but they are like the horse in gate number 7 in the 3.30 @ kempton. im presuming the people who have voted for this are people in mail centres and mdecs,dont think any delivery postie in his right mind would have voted for this sham of an agreement, thanks lovejoy for letting us know the result and all other info we find out of you before anyone else, very much appreciated.

I work at Stockport MDEC and I can assure you I most certainly did NOT vote yes, We actively campaigned for a No vote and we are as bitterly disappointed with the outcome as anyone else.
