Genuine question. We, more than most, mix with every member of our communities and yet nothing has been said at work.
Will deliveries/collections be suspended?
Stop using PDA's?
What if we self isolate, will we get sick pay?
Will the absence policy be suspended so no one is staged over this?
As usual, RM are showing how poor they are at communicating anything to their staff, questions at our office are met with a "don't know".
What are your thoughts and experiences on this?

Would have thought as first person gets it in a mail centre the whole place will have to be closed down for a clean. Door handles, toilets, yorks, buttons, rails, seats, radio's, boxes.

I would expect that to happen no matter what type of office (and lorries/vans if they drive for RM as well)teesdale wrote:Would have thought as first person gets it in a mail centre the whole place will have to be closed down for a clean. The policy seems to be keep quiet and hope it goes away
I'm trying to get some answers to specific questions at the moment but nobody seems willing to stick their neck out..
One question is if a member of staff phones in with suspected but not clinically verified Coronavirus will the rest of the office be informed that someone from their office 'might' have Coronavirus ?
This is going to be very important soon because the sheer numbers involved might mean that many people are just told to self isolate without being tested.
Members deserve to have information that may directly affect their or their family's health especially if they care for vulnerable people but I suspect to keep the costs down RM will only inform us and provide a deep clean with clinically verified cases.

Royal Mail have a three-stage plan:
1 - Wider society may need to do something but RM don't need to do anything different (current status)
2 - Acknowledge perhaps RM need to do something, but nothing practical can be done (we'll enter this stage soon)
3 - Admit some things could have been done but realise it's too late
This is a simple and effective strategy that has served the company well with previous unexpected crises (e.g. Christmas)

Been told our office has no intention of getting hand sanitizer or alcohol wipes
f**k the public it would seem
And if we get it we get it
Magnet response
What do you want me to do
It’s actually a national disgrace the way they are ignoring the problems
Hope the press pick up on it

One bottle of sanitizer ( nearly empty) and 3 boxes of blue rubber gloves at our office, been told today to inform management if anyone gets it to report it straight away.

And the Work Place Coaches will probably quiz those unfortunate to come down with Coronavirus if they had been "Washing Their Hands Properly"frankieboy wrote:One bottle of sanitizer ( nearly empty) and 3 boxes of blue rubber gloves at our office, been told today to inform management if anyone gets it to report it straight away.

Absolutely this. I suspect RM and every other courier will be in an arms race as to who can stay operational the longest. f**k the staff and f**k the public. The customer must be served at all costs.DGH wrote:Royal Mail have a three-stage plan:

To think that you could be pushing millions of doses of the virus a day through the letterboxes across the whole nation.
Please could whoever delivers to my neck of the woods please squirt some of that anti-vac on my mail before pushing it through as tomorrow is my birthday and unfortunately I enter in to an higher at risk age bracket.
