Maybe it's just the impression I get from my office but there seems to be a load of apathy- the ones I have spoken to have said they've voted NO but in general there seems to be no interest. I mentioned to a group about the result one day last week and all I get was a resounding set of non committal grunts, that made me a bit depressed.

I suppose they feel let down by the Grand Old Duke of Pork marching 98% of us up to the top of a hill, the buggering off back to Wimbledon after selling us out.

Should I be proved wrong in any materially significant respect I may consider climbing aboard with the other career politician posters and doing a number on the witless masses, NAH only kidding ,I'd rather get my eyeballs pierced with white hot ring nails
Good to see you have an "innate respect for the common sense of (your) fellow workers". Wots that as long as they agree with you. Dont make me laugh comrade!

Don't address me as comrade we have nothing in common ,and I have no desire whatsoever to introduce any levity into your working day.
Whilst I realise It may be hurtful for you to be excluded from a group who do exhibit mutual respect and common humanitarian principals the choice is ultimately yours. You know what you are,I know, indeed all who read your posts can't fail to be aware. Hope you can take pride in your efforts ,and sleep well

what will ballot result be??

Post by thekiddykid »

my guess is a turnout of 68% and a narrow YES vote of 54-46%... This will of course be trumpeted as ' an overwhelming endorsement of the union's stance against the Royal Mail who initially refused to negotiate on any aspect of their proposals'!!!!!! Then, of course, we know that certain posties were s**t scared to vote NO in case we were called out on IA during Christmas pressure.... The timing of the vote has played into Royal Mail's hands and on the minds of our members!!! Despite that, i still voted NO but think i may be 2nd in this current race...I DO HOPE I AM WRONG

Well, if you're right, we've lost a battle, but the war is far from over. Once the screws start strutting about like the German Army on a sightseeing tour of Paris, we'll see what happens. Just keep doing the job to their rules, and we can knacker them.

I reckon the idea of people being expected to cover sick or annual leave will see quite a few hares becoming tortoises.

you hit the nail right on the head..

once the reality kicks in that management will want more than thier pound of flesh out of you..

you watch everybody lose their goodwill then..

too little too late maybe..but there is no way they are going to get any extra work out of anybody with an ounce of sense...
