What does that mean; segregation solutions? Who's gonna do the LAT for a rural address? Or will rural duties be changed to a later start? Who'll do the 1pm specials?
It means they want to exclude rural duties from parcel separation entirely and leave them alone because obviously it makes no sense to send two guys out into the middle of nowhere.
It means that the huge parcel sortation machines that will be installed in the superhubs will have to be capable of rejecting items (for the rurals) down to individual postcode level.

Do you know what the planned time is for Larger and LAT traffic to arrive in DOs?
The manager didn't mention whether all the Tracked items are being diverted to the LAT hubs and none of us asked
I did and it's not all Tracked just those above shoebox size and LAT. Also they don't want to include rurals so they're looking at segregation solutions down to individual postcodes.
You're probably still going to get stuff through that's over shoebox size. Chances are that we won't have setups for large so whatever we get through in sleeves will just get sorted as small. The LAT hubs will get through a good few items that are small
If they've given us an extra 200 calls like they've been doing in Swindon they will still be sat in the office when i go home! It'll be like the old days chucking out parcels that are too big, but it will be to a non existent parcel driver unless it's in a lat hub and with the new overtime rules if they've been brought in there won't be a stampede of people offering to them on overtime at 3pm
To add 200 delivery points to each walk, won't they have to redo all walks? Won't that then trigger an office resign with ALL duties apart from ring-fenced DDA duties going into the pot?

Good luck getting a re-sign ! Management visit saying we are heading for 5 hour duties with break in between ! So 2 and half hours delivery , then break , then another 2 and a half ! Also clocking in and out , so good times ahead NOT !!!

Royal Mails plan it to have yearly resigns
Why let people sign for anything, we will just end up doing whatever duty we are told to do on a daily basis. That’s the way I see it going unfortunately.

That’ll be great, we all know how slow people are when put on a duty they don’t know. Cut offs a plenty

Only as a last resort.
Idealy they want to manage it through natural wastage but natural wastage doesn't happen evenly across the business so it could mean some people moving office and/or VR.
What it does mean is that there's likely to be a freeze on recruitment in all but the most desperate cases.

No Royal Mail's plan is to have yearly revisions, nobody said anything about resigns.

The LAT hubs will have to send their own vans to collect it from the MCs. Either that or it arrives in time to make the main/final dispatch to DOs otherwise it'll fail
