We had a guy in the office this morning (DOM from another office) talking about the 5 year plan and what it would mean to staff etc. To be fair to him he seemed to be open and honest about things and without saying it seemed to be against rico. However the amount of staff who were jumping to get out that door or chatting through out the talk was unreal. Half the knobs deserve the sack in out place.

I actually agree that changes need to be made for the company to remain viable, but as bribes go 6% over 3 years (even if it was without strings) is pretty pathetic.

If we forget how pathetic the pay "deal" is for something that should be separate from all of this. Why should we trust them? Who's to say if we accept these terms that they then wont just renege on it once they have implemented these changes. They've got form.

Royal Mail have put out a video with Ricky with details of the three year pay deal - 6% pay rise over 3 years from April 2021. The video is here: https://vimeo.com/392678313" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

He goes on to give a glimmer of hope that there could be another hour off the working week BUT conditional on Royal Mail putting in place their plan announced in May 2019. But I'm not really clear whether we would only get the full 6% if they put their plan in place, or whether we would get the one hour less granted (if the union agree to the plan) IN ADDITION to the 6% deal.

Also, weren't we missing a pay deal for the year from April 2019? There's nothing to say anything is being backdated. I'm getting a bit hazy on this now!

Same here. People are loosing focus on what this is about.All they are thinking about is the pay rise aspect

They announced this plan back in May 2019 and seriously, this should've been taken care of months ago. Just get around a table and hash it out.

Come January of next year, the inflow of workers from the EU cuts off. Management is going to have to offer relatively good terms to staff anyway to deal with this. Lock in a deal now and look like heroes.

Simply by making the walks that are usually lapsed, non walks and putting the extra that you normally do as lapsed , permanently into your walk. There will have to be major revisions across the board to make it work as it's really inefficient to do lapsing, traveling 10 mins out your way to deliver 10 mins or whatever. No. It will mean the lapsed walks will exist no more and everyone will have to have a bit extra on their walks. Judging by the amount of people on here that regularly say they finish 30 mins or an hr (or more) early, it really shouldn't be a problem.

They did that in our office years ago, we all got an extra loop each. I'm guessing we will get another each and the frames will be massive!
