Did you get it agreed beforehand?

Again, this has to be agreed before you go out on delivery at the earliest possible opportunity.
Where does it say in any agreement or agreed document that overtime will only be paid if it's agreed beforehand.
Are we psychic?
If I get out on delivery and then due to weather conditions, mechanical breakdown or simply that the delivery takes longer than anticipated are you suggesting that I should absorb the cost and work for free?
While it's helpful for management if you can give them a rough estimate of any expected extended delivery it doesn't preclude that changing while out on delivery. All genuine worked hours should be paid whether you've asked permission beforehand or not. Any question over the honesty of the claim should be progressed formally based on facts and using the existing framework.
If a manager refuses to pay for genuinely worked hours he/she is basically calling you a liar. Nobody should have to accept that.
1. For abuse and use of expletives.
2. One for asking if someone could be a DOM
Please check the rules, there are both violations. We ask you to follow the rules, not because we are killjoys, but one wrong word, 1 wrong comment CAN end in dismissal. As to being a Manager so what, they have opinions as well, and they are just as valid and welcome as OPGs. Saying someone is a manager as a put-down, or as a derogatory comment, says more about you, than them.

PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT
Where an employee feels that on completion of preparation he/she may experience difficulty in completing his/her delivery within the authorised time allotted, he/she should approach his/her manager as soon as possible before setting out on delivery. It will be for the manager to discuss any problem and advise the employee what particular action should be taken.
AFTER COMMENCEMENT OF DELIVERY
If an individual is prevented from completing their delivery for any reason, it is essential that this is reported immediately either by returning to the office or by telephone (telephone costs will be refunded). A written record will be kept. All employees should be informed of the local authorised arrangements, in writing, preferably in plastic card form if available.
Yawn yawn yawn boring boring boring....... yet another thread from a holier than thou blaming every other postie for RM greed. Don’t people get it - WE ARE NOW A BUSINESS!!!! All businesses cut cut cut that is what they do. Look at the banks and the retail sector as 2 examples and see how may thousands of jobs they’ve lost over recent years. You can’t odds it, even if every single person in RM did everything to the letter (no pun intended) they would still be looking at cutting everything they possibly could and putting maximum pressure on us to do more. What the union neeed to be doing is ensuring that the changes that are coming are managed properly and securing good VR terms for those that want to go. Constantly skirting round the edges and blaming George and Ernie cos they come in 10 minutes early isn’t going to help us face the future.
The unions inability or arrogance to see the future will got thousands of jobs, but the people at the top will still be taking their wage out of the union

Great bit of trolling/fishing.
Keep your tin hat on.
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09

Not at all - although as I’ve said on another thread it is human nature to try and find the easiest solution to complete things so we ALL cut corners in all aspects of our lives. It’s just that some on here seem to think they’re perfect and blame everything on others. Anyway I’m not a krank just a realist!!!
