they have no chance of 97 % lets face it, im voting NO this time, theirs no support from union on the floor everyday when you have the daily routine of arguing with managers with how many parcels you can take. Taking off the oversize parcels is a good thing , okay a wee bit extra walking, but lets face it everyday you have to argue with the manager about oversize in your pairs, you won't have that anymore and also having the LAT guys on your back for leaving parcels in incase they have to do them, so its a good thing. Shared van doesnt work because the driver has all the oversize to do so take this away and driver and passenger are on a level playing field, lets just crack on, more unrest is pointless, BIG FAT NO! from me

1. You can't picket overtime, you can't monitor overtime, you can't even question someone who's working overtime. In a mail centre or large DO how do you even tell if someone is working overtime?

2. The business can employ as many casuals as it likes to cover overtime.

I may be missing something... But aren't the Ballot Papers usually posted to our Home Addresses? :hmmmm I presume the Posties in question went around to their Home Addresses Frame and Helped Themselves (or asked the Duty Holder) :hmmmm A practice that I don't agree with, and has now been proved to be Bloody Dodgy. :no no

I myself will be opening the next ballot Paper in the Cupboard under the stairs and put that X in the box in Absolute Secret. Just in Case. :cuppa

If a strike drags on for a few week how many can afford no wages when the mortgage needs paying, the Xmas credit card bill arrives, an O/T ban means we can cause them problems for longer. If you think people are going to sneak in & do O/T these same people would quickly pull out of a strike.

Correct we are not in a day in and age where we can afford to strike, with foodbanks on the increase, how can you afford to pay your mortgage , probably only ones that can afford to strike is the union reps, i certainly can't ive got a mortgage to pay , im out

Everyone must be happy with the situation otherwise someone would have put their name into the hat to become the new rep

certainly no one is happy in my office, fed up with constant daily battles with managers with no union backing, why on earth would you vote for the union if they have never helped you, if they have helped you fair enough vote for them, but our office its everyman for himself, i wish it was like years ago when staff supported each other, now its the exact opposite , such a toxic environment

I wonder how they decide who the LAT guy is going to be cause in our office most posties would rather finish earlier rather than later?

Anyway lets just crack on and allow Royal Mail to get rid of the sick pay that we get or change our terms and conditions so that they can eventually just fire us at will. I'm not against change but Royal Mail appear to be taking executive action by offloading staff, putting in machines and giving us extra delivery work. They will use PDA actuals, AHDC and everything else to throw at us to tell us all that we are not working fast or efficiently enough - and just like Amazon they will use it against us. Even better, they have paid their top managers pay rises and bonuses for it all - wheres the f**k ours??? Endofdays indeed

If you think the union haven't helped you go work for Hermes or Amazon or even our own agency staff, now that my friend is every man and woman for themselves.

You have no idea what a toxic environment really is and what it's like to do it for minimum wage with no idea whether you'll get 40hrs work this week or 4, whether you'll be able to take a holiday on a zero hour contract or whether they might just not like your face next week.

Like most of the guys in Royal Mail you're spoiled. The union has protected the terms and conditions we have and because your office is full of idiots the union has done nothing for you.

Jesus wept. :cuppa

They will use owner drivers as LAT if no one wants them, id say it will be a close call i fear they will except the outcome of the vote and go ahead with the changes using owner drivers non striking posties and managers to deliver packets on strike days. They will ask anyone who wants to work to give their name to the manager like they did last time.

I can vote Yes, politely encourage everyone to vote Yes and still not be a fan of the current state of the union. I don't think it's a contradiction at all.

To wit. As soon as the CWU elections team gets back from helping out in Iowa, I can't wait to get a hold of my ballot.

The last ballot, including Parcelforce, was in September (result 15 October) & their result was valid for 6 months. Being it is a possibility for strike action to be announced in April/Easter, would parcelforce need to be re-balloted?
