If the Yes vote wins and flexibility wins, there is nothing stopping them being trained on delivery and then being sent out. I hope that most MC guys see that this deal, on this single aspect, would be just as bad for them as us in Deliveries.

Our early shift have been told they may be sent out to do uncovered deliveries. Late shift have been told they can be asked to stay on or up to 30 minutes to finish despatches, so the flexibility aspect will affect mail centres. Our Reps think that they will be able to negotiate acceptable local agreements, but a lot of members are dubious about this knowing the attitude of a lot of floor managers who will try to force staff to do whatever they tell them to.

I work in an edinburgh office, think the vote will be 50/50. Asked a few people couple said yes, couple said no.
The problem with this deal is the flexiblity bit "Do we trust our managers". Our union have failed to grasp this aspect.

My office obviously thinks the deal is as good as done,because they are already trying to make savings by cutting my job,and 11 others on the early LSM`s.I work at MK by the way,and all the 2nd class mech we sort in the mornings is being sent to Watford in January or February.With of course the backing of our illustrious union in my office.

How can we trust the union now. the deal is shocking and the people who voted yes must be thick mugs!! dave ward and co should be sacked, for even putting this crap to its members. we have now been divided, so royal mail will conquer. it's now each office for itself, and who the hell is going to back any future industrial action??? they have sold us down the river, while taking back handers!!! there is no other way to explain this, or there just f***ing stupid c***s. lets make our next votes count and get rid of ward and co!

I e-mailed Billy Hayes b4 the ballot papers arrived informing him that it was a poor deal, and the same deal that had been offered a year ago. Asked him why we stopped the strikes so the backlog could be cleared?asked him why the ballot papers had taken a month to be sent?All i recieved in answer was that the union execs were happy with the deal and when it was explained to me in detail i would consider it to be a good deal. The e-mail was poorly spelled, and no more than a condescending pat on the head.There is growing voice in my office that we should resign from this union, as they clearly have no appetite for battle

Have to say that everyone I spoke to and I spoke to a lot of people said they would definetely be voting No to this deal.

I just cant comprehend how we ended up with a Yes vote.

Only answer I can think of is someone had 60 odd thousand Yes Votes sitting ready and everyone that got sent through the post had Harry Potter waiting with his magic wand making it dissapear in case it was a No vote.

Something stinks very badly about this and once again the smell is Corruption.

Heads need to roll, but thats still not going to help the ordinary postie who is now absolutely fcuk,d.

I think Hayes and Co have done more damage to this union than Crozier and Co could ever have done.

Everyone in our office is shocked of the outcome. Feels like we have been conned our office has allready made lots of cuts and not many staff finish their dutys within their time and now they are gona want more work out of us.
