do you think royal fail are interested in what time you start ? there more interested in the finishing times so you would have to be an idiot if you start early (FREE) not take your meal breaks and not use the kit to do the job and think you cam go early , and this will also take away a manager asking what will you be claiming today , sooner the better imo .hero22 wrote:how does a clocking in machine stop people coming in earlhy though ? can they not just come in early then clock in at their start time ?

Maybe I'm being silly so please enlighten me but for example : if there is 6 people doing a set amount of work like now and its changed so that 6 people still do the same batch of work but in a different way i.e 5 delivering mail and 1 delivering parcels where is the benefits coming from ?
is this plan to save money or to improve customer satisfaction i.e parcels getting delivered later so possibly have a better chance of getting them in. Our Dom is the biggest tool you will meet and even he seems to think this is a senseless plan.

I agree with you completely mate. Its just some think a clocking in machine will suddenly stop people coming in early. No chance. Theres guys in my office and im not convinced they even go home at night, I think if u did a locker search there wud be a blow up bed and an alarm clock in there. As you say it will be to save money on the finish times and why not. If a company has a workforce who are willing to work for free who wudnt abuse it.worktotime wrote:do you think royal fail are interested in what time you start ? there more interested in the finishing times so you would have to be an idiot if you start early (FREE) not take your meal breaks and not use the kit to do the job and think you cam go early , and this will also take away a manager asking what will you be claiming today , sooner the better imo .hero22 wrote:how does a clocking in machine stop people coming in earlhy though ? can they not just come in early then clock in at their start time ?

For DOs would the new van deliveries take out all SD items?

The person doing the parcels for the 6 duties will also be doing the LAT's so essentially RM think theyd get the LATs delivered for 'free' rather than on overtimehero22 wrote:Maybe I'm being silly so please enlighten me but for example : if there is 6 people doing a set amount of work like now and its changed so that 6 people still do the same batch of work but in a different way i.e 5 delivering mail and 1 delivering parcels where is the benefits coming from ?

If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

You have to remember the 6th person doing the oversize is not going to be the guy that lost his duty from your office it a guy from an LAT office so this is where the redundancy comes in.and royal mail ideally want that guy to be zero hours contact.

If it's "gate line" type barriers then they're not going to work in ever MC as they'll get in the way of fire exits (what happens if they lose power?) or if they're placed nearer the main floor they've got to be wide enough to get equipment like the large tables through

My memory is rubbish I think it will be particularly bad when I'm ghosting, I'll undoubtedly forget to clock out or even go back to the depo
My memory will probably improve when I'm actually going over the arranged time
To be honest though why do they need an expensive machine that takes your fingerprints when you've got a PDA that you log on and off?

Is it a separate cheaper work force they want to do the large parcels/L.A.T's or the displaced staff member??

Why is coming in early automatically seen as working for free? i go in early to throw my own walk in as we dont have enough ft to do it for me and it goes down on overtime.worktotime wrote:do you think royal fail are interested in what time you start ? there more interested in the finishing times so you would have to be an idiot if you start early (FREE) not take your meal breaks and not use the kit to do the job and think you cam go early , and this will also take away a manager asking what will you be claiming today , sooner the better imo .hero22 wrote:how does a clocking in machine stop people coming in earlhy though ? can they not just come in early then clock in at their start time ?

You're getting paid for coming in early,a lot of full timers start early and don't get paid for it.leolion855 wrote:Why is coming in early automatically seen as working for free? i go in early to throw my own walk in as we dont have enough ft to do it for me and it goes down on overtime.worktotime wrote:do you think royal fail are interested in what time you start ? there more interested in the finishing times so you would have to be an idiot if you start early (FREE) not take your meal breaks and not use the kit to do the job and think you cam go early , and this will also take away a manager asking what will you be claiming today , sooner the better imo .hero22 wrote:how does a clocking in machine stop people coming in earlhy though ? can they not just come in early then clock in at their start time ?

I think everyone means the people who come in early even if they ain't getting it as overtime. For example my start time today 8:05 as a part timer but others were there at half 7 and not being paid for it!leolion855 wrote:Why is coming in early automatically seen as working for free? i go in early to throw my own walk in as we dont have enough ft to do it for me and it goes down on overtime.worktotime wrote:do you think royal fail are interested in what time you start ? there more interested in the finishing times so you would have to be an idiot if you start early (FREE) not take your meal breaks and not use the kit to do the job and think you cam go early , and this will also take away a manager asking what will you be claiming today , sooner the better imo .hero22 wrote:how does a clocking in machine stop people coming in earlhy though ? can they not just come in early then clock in at their start time ?
