There are also numerous safeguards throughout the draft. These safeguards make it clear individual circumstances should always be taken into account. Furthermore, there is a clear statement that this is not about people not knowing what job they are on, or their start and finish times, from one day to the next.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:I hated that that's why I took this duty. Re: Reported TNT for Dangerous Driving
Just an update: Had a call Fri afternoon before i left for work from the local bobby, they asked me the details again about the incident as they are prosecuting the driver for Dangerous driving and driving with undue care and attentionsmudger54 wrote:Oh what a friggin night on my way back from London tonight in my artic, there is a 50mph 1 lane section roadworks on the M/Way so stuck to the limit as camera's in situ. as i came out to the 2 lane bit the artic behind was a TNT one and as he over took did not obviously like doing 50. So he suddenly cut me up to avoid a blameworthy for an RTA and losing half the cab i swerved into the cones(no damage luckily) but i thought sod this and rang the Police gave his reg number and direction of travel and reported him for dangerous driving. The officer on the other end at Thames Valley said "no problem sir i'll call his office straight away" Result i thought
Then 30mins later i get a call telling me they had spoken to his transport manager and a local officer was paying TNT in the morning. Bet he'll be popular with his boss.

They also had reports of the same wagon doing 65mph in the outside lane near Newbury from a car driver as he was tailgated by him. Well done the boys in blue
keep these nutters off the road it drags other HGV drivers down ( and 1 less competion driver

Crap day today, turned up at 6am to take out a residential duty only to be told I was getting chucked on to a city centre walk which had a 4am start time.
I was deliveing to the main high street and by the time I got out it was mobbed with xmas shoppers, had to fight my way through them all to get to the sales desks.
Got to the RM annex to get my second bag only to find the front gate locked, had to action man over the top of it to get in, what a farce.

went in at 6.30 yesterday morning, and as i am only 6hrs a day I am meant to finish on saturday at 12.30. Got put on yet another walk, couldn't get my head round the frame. Left the office at 10, finish the duty at 2.30, did a row at the other side of town (let face it its beer money, tis why i do OT.) Started that at 2.50, finish that at 3.30. Had to cycle from that point to where I live, which is 6miles away. On the way my chain came off my bike 4times, last time I was up a steep hill and hurt my back and leg trying to steady myself, I then walked the rest of the way home, not coming home till 5.15pm grrrr gonna talk to the union rep about working til my time on saturday and seeing whether I can leave 3/4 of the duty. Normally on a 6hour duty I got 2hours to prep (takes me longer due to dyspraxia.) Meant to take 30mins break, and got to travel their and deliver in a 3 and a 1/2 hours. Most dutys if done properly, are over 3 and a half hours. Any that does is quicker, uses their own car and carry far more weight then what they should do. On saturday I am suppose to start same time as the full timers, do a hour IPS, as well as take a break and prep and deliver a normal duty in the remaining time. Can't be done, but its expected

Old fella come out today right nasty temper started going off on one about leaving his gate open
Now i'd usually go back and shut the thing But his tone and temper and me being in a s****y mood took over
Told him if he talks like that he could forget it , and I DONT GET PAID FOR SHUTTING GATES alright.
Felt abit guilty after that tho, think i might ave been to harsh.
