A message from Dave Ward DGS (Postal)
Dear Colleagues,
THE CAMPAIGN CONTINUES - VOTING YES WILL MAKE A POSITIVE DIFFERENCE
Thank you very much for all your efforts so far.
We are holding regular conference calls with representatives across
every area of the UK and we are receiving very positive feedbacks.
This week your role in maximizing the 'yes' vote is crucial.
The best thing you can do is to keep on reminding your work colleagues
to vote yes. Make sure that our new stickers telling everybody that
they have already voted 'yes' are worn and are visible.
We can be certain Royal Mail will continue their negative campaigning on
a daily basis through to the end of the ballot period. CWU supporters
must also carry on and continue to keep talking to our members in the
workplace daily.
If any of your colleagues needs reassuring keep on publicising the
message on our postcard.
1. Royal Mail say they listen to you
A yes vote is the most powerful way of putting this to the test -it
leaves Royal Mail with nowhere to hide
No responsible employer will be able to ignore that yes vote and no
responsible employer will be able to turn down fresh talks.
2. Our promise to CWU members
When we deliver a yes vote there will be no knee-jerk reaction and no
call, at any stage, for an all out strike.
We will consult CWU members first on the most effective type of action.
A strike will be the very last resort with minimum cost to CWU members
and maximum pressure to Royal Mail.
You can reinforce the message by making it clear that the CWU will
explore every possible avenue to avoid a dispute. We want an agreement
not a strike. Remind them that the CWU have offered Royal Mail the
opportunity for a period of calm with no industrial action - in return
we want Royal Mail to set aside their Business Plan and back off from
the cost cutting frenzy in every office.
Once we have achieved an overwhelming yes vote it will be impossible for
Royal Mail to publicly turn down our common sense and pragmatic
solution.
Other Key CWU Messages
* Royal Mail are deliberately trying to mislead CWU members. They
have not withdrawn the strings to the 2.5% pay offer. Their postcard at
the weekend, once again, fails to mention all the strings attached to
their offer. This has been a common theme throughout their campaign.
* A 'No' vote will not make the problems go away. It simply means
every office will be isolated when facing Royal Mail's cost cutting
Business Plan. This means over 40,000 job losses, attacks on pensions
and the race to the bottom on pay and conditions.
* A 'Yes' vote is the only way to stop Royal Mail's attacks and
bring Royal Mail and CWU together to reach a National Agreement and
build a better future.
Once again, thank you for your continuing support, keep up the good
work.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
