Top tip: If you put your weight on the parcel as you post it you can usually get beyond the cage lid & laugh to yourself while some bullmastiff rips it to shreds & eats the contents.PostmanBitesDog wrote:... unless there's one of those infuriating letter cages on the other side.

Or you have just walked up a long driveway and are about five steps from the door, and the customer comes out and says, I'll take that save you the walk, grrrr!

Or an ironing board or something. Why oh why do people put stuff up against their letter boxes? Sent an ironing board crashing to the ground once on the end of a contact lens box lol.PostmanBitesDog wrote:Was it one of those Specsaver parcels? Not with me, they get 739'd they'll only learn that waynorris9 wrote:Why do they make them so small. Larger post, like magazines, don't fit so they just end up sticking out of the letterbox.PostmanBitesDog wrote:... unless there's one of those infuriating letter cages on the other side.

And the ones with the handy diagrams to show you how to do it. I mean. Wtf, who the hell do they think is going to be delivering it?Mr Rush wrote:The helpful "I fit most letterboxes!" note jinxes any possibility that the item will, in fact, fit.malcdj wrote:Had a parcel, long and thin enough, just, to go through letter box.

I hate it when you 739 a parcel because the customer can't be arsed answering the door even though you know they're in but then you see them shouting & waving the card in their doorway a couple of minutes later when they realise they'll have to go to the delivery office to pick it up.

It's more likely they realise that it's not the feds or bailiffs when the 739 hits the floor with an earth shattering thud.....Jeppol wrote:I hate it when you 739 a parcel because the customer can't be arsed answering the door even though you know they're in but then you see them shouting & waving the card in their doorway a couple of minutes later when they realise they'll have to go to the delivery office to pick it up.

I nearly sent ladders through someone's internal glass door. I could see it teeter on the edge for a lifetime before it fell back against the letterbox. People seem to forget they have a letterbox. It certainly seems to be an afterthought when they buy a new door with the letterbox at the bottom (if it has one at all).rambo1 wrote:Or an ironing board or something. That's when you need to develop a temporary bout of blindness or deafness, many a time I've just kept on walking with someone shouting or whistling a few doors back, or driven past in the van, eyes looking straight ahead, even though I've spotted them stood on the doorstep frantically waving the card.Jeppol wrote:I hate it when you 739 a parcel because the customer can't be arsed answering the door even though you know they're in but then you see them shouting & waving the card in their doorway a couple of minutes later when they realise they'll have to go to the delivery office to pick it up.
There are some circumstances when I will let someone off and go back if I think they genuinely didn't hear me knocking but when I know it's just someone who couldn't be arsed answering the door or someone hiding from the bailiffs then f**k 'em.

Its the ones which you know are in but dont come to the door until the 2nd or 3rd ring and then they are on the darn phone and you stand there why they chat away waiting for them to sign for something.
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........
