Don't you just love these new Door Bows eh? All wrapped up like a big f***ing Christmas present! When I order mine I want it to FULLY cover that dreaded little letterbox thing. Might add a bit of sellotape for good measure.....and a bit of jaggy tinsel.....

I've 3 Bows on doors ,looks like it's catching , basically no one gives a thought to the delivery people ,bit like the person who suddenly decides to lock their side gate when you've been leaving parcels around the back for years

Total pain in the arse, these fecking wreaths.

Last week I had to cut off on a duty I'd never done before and was banging out the tracked packets before heading back the DO. Drive into a posh looking Mews with about a dozen houses and grab the packet from the van. Looks like they've got a job lot of matching wreaths and the whole mews have them on their doors covering the house numbers :arrrghhh

And guess what? There is no recognisable numbering system used...it literally looks like someone stood in the middle and randomly sprayed house numbers around after a night in the pub. So I'm running around like an idiot lifting up all these wreaths to read the numbers. The house I wanted was the third to last one I checked.

And they weren't even in. :so there
Sooner or later, a beat dog bites.

You checked another two addresses AFTER you found the correct one?
You're working too hard bud.

Some utter gonk has hung one of those plastic glittery lettering saying Merry Christmas and selotaped it to the top of the letterbox. Facepalm.

Christmas decorations used to go up in the canteen. That stopped around the time P&L came in, since we went from three weeks in December delivering cards to two months of ever-increasing packets. I'm not religious, though I wonder to myself as I look at half the DO floorspace covered in parcels 'what is Christmas?'

Aye, there was a definite shift when P&L came in for us too. I remember when we used to have a 'lift' for the old DOM and maybe a bottle of his favourite Whisky. We would have a day near Christmas with a bit of a fry up in the canteen before delivery. Not had that in a while. We've a new DOM that says he's going to do that for us this week, so we'll see...

What is Christmas? Well, that needs another thread in itself!
