When the No vote is returned , as i hope it will , just where does it leave Ward and Hayes .Those two are already on record confessing that they are unable to negotiate a better deal than the one they are recommending , so just who will be sent back to conduct talks .
Surely a No vote must be treated as a vote of no confidence in Hayes and Ward and resignations to be accepted .
Needless to say , Management will immediately challenge the no vote , counting up the yeses and including abstentions and the non-union member staff to claim a majority and impose the deal by executive action .
What can Hayes and Ward do as supporters of the deal , after all ?
Branch demands for special conference takes time especially when hindered by the incumbents and no doubt be after the xmas pressure .
Then another ballot , i'm guessing since the original ballot has a time limit to remain valid , will be required for more industrial action .
So when management start imposing what they are describing as flexability , unofficial action is bound to break out .
The priority is that no mail diversions will be handled ...and that the unofficial strikes are spread . And those scab sorting offices staffed by casuals and agencies , which undoubtably will be put into action once again , are mass picketed .

If its a yes vote I would agree with you for this particular deal. But why cant a campaign designed to draw a line under this offer and try to do a better job and represent some members views more that the PEC and Senior Offices of the Union have done this year.

Can't see a swing of that amount from 78% for what is essentially the same deal as before.
There will be a swing of between 15-30%, which as everybody already knows, means this will be a very close ballot.

Either way, fun and games are on the horizon for all

I know what you are saying BUT there is going to be a lot of pressure put on by RM and because the Yes vote prevailed then Summer efficiency and covering for holidays etc will become the norm - more especially because the second part of the pay rise of 1.5% miniscule as it is depends on acceptance AND implementation.
