recently been asked to cover some class two work , currently on the 7.5 tonne wagons , wondering if anyone had any experience of doing the 17 t work, pros and cons , hourly rate , work etc etc ,any advice would be appreciated thank you. the job is in the north west of England ?????????????

Not much difference, obviously longer so beware of the rear over-hang, especially if driving the newer 31 york capacity vehicles. Turning circle is crap on the 17t too. Just take a bit more care & a drive a little slower than the 7.5t

Is this at Manchester Mail Centre? My husband applied for that, he's a postie currently, but recruitment phoned him to say they were having to withdraw his application as it's only fixed term and he is on a perm contract. Annoying!

The ADC should take you out and familiarise you with 17t lorry and obviously if you don't know the layout of a DO always get out and look. Also if not sure speak to Rep & Management
