Hopefully when the postal vote forms go out, they get spread out so that they don't all come through on the same day

In our officerambo1 wrote:If they try that one on, then just say ok I'll work to time and not claim any overtime, only getting election payments for the bits I complete. See how long their stance lasts then.postmanzach wrote:Long as I get paid extra for them I don’t see a problem. The problem is that people often go over their time at Christmas and will definitely be expecting to get paid for it, but usually with election stuff we been told you can’t claim for them and for overtime. So not sure how it’s going to work.
If anyone doesnt want to deliver poll cards they are told to work to their time delivering all mail including poll cards but they wont be paid for the poll cards they deliver. Someone else usually takes the bits they leave and claims for the poll card payment for that duty. Seems fair in my opinion.
If someone doesnt want to deliver election material they are usually taken off their walk for a day or however long it takes to deliver the election stuff.
I will be claiming extended when we deliver election material if the non election mail volume is there. The dom will makes noises but will pay for our extended delivery cos they know that we are usually over most days.

Can't you just say you don't want the overtime?shaun2urz wrote:Murdoch wrote:You can'tRyan741 wrote:Can you opt out of election stuff? Didn't know you could do that.
You can
All this election material is nothing but forced compulsory overtime.

Get all your leaflets, stick them in the back of your car and bin them when you get home.
RM aren't going to check PDA actuals of every postman/woman.

Worst company I've ever worked for. Complete shithouses, the lot.goldy wrote:looking at all this it's going to be a nightmare trying to deliver all this crap over the Xmas period plus strikes

I've never worked for a company where it's us and them so much.
I always thought it was 'help your mates out'. At Royal Mail it's basically f**k each other.
As for CWU. Pretty much useless. No, I'm not giving them that accolade. f***ing useless.

you are entirely entitled to your opinion on the CWU, of course. but if it wasn't for the CWU most posties/mail centre staff ( and yourself) would not be working for RM, simply because it would be a minimum wage job. and people who moan now when we've got the T&Cs and wages we presently enjoy would be gone. the money and T&CS we get was fought for and won by the union. RM didn't freely give it. as for advice on 'binning' all the leaflets, stupid thing to tell ANY body that.Trail wrote:Worst company I've ever worked for. You do know that almost every walk will have at least one member or activist of a political party that has gave us leaflets to deliver and will notice none have came through their doorTrail wrote:Never got caught out yet.aiden01 wrote:More great adviceTrail wrote:Get all your leaflets, stick them in the back of your car and bin them when you get home.
