Here here brother, bad senior management equals bad junior managementGazza wrote:What a f***ing company.norbet colon wrote:Orders from High are "It will & it must be 60/40%" , they've had their fingers burnt paying up all those 15 layers of management , that's why they want bare minimum notice and rid of MTSF .Gazza wrote:My main point was the total glee on the DOM's face, when he thought he had me.
I feel there is an agenda here. Brownie points for sackings etc.
From experience of a previous industry , RM would want their grubby/ dirty hands on people's pension money , the staff paper always used to brag about that , there was even a case when Mgrs knew that a retiring Office Worker would going out for drinks at lunchtime , so they got managers to spy on him & his mates and sacked them all for drinking .All over the staff paper .
I've seen a Inspector win a Tribunal & the Union had to fight tooth & nail to get his pension money back when he was reinstated with a very chilling ,sinister manager .
We can all rest assured that Crozier & his Senior Managers will always get their pensions ,as they are convientally in a different scheme. :cfo :cfo :lfo
If I was a manager I would never be able to go home, look my wife in the eye, and tell I had had a good day at work.
I have managed before and always prided myself on the fact that I MANAGED the staff. Trusting them and hoping they trusted me. Get the job done with minimum of fuss.
This lot seem hellbent on pissing all and sundrie off and do not give a s**t!!! Sad sad little people.

Its been a nearly 15months since he told me that and i have still yet to be officially given a stage one warning. Would they still issue me that after so long?

Just given a STAGE 2 today following 5 weeks sick due to an infection after a prostate biopsy :lfo
I'm about the same age as AL, I just hope his body starts falling apart soon. Probably never had anything worse than BUM sores from his executive leather swivel chair two days a week :lfo
Was a review of the sickness procedures under discussion in the recent negotiations, probably not ?
Stuffed by RM & the union, well done B & G

It seems to be part of the remit of Joint Working Group 1 - ..."covering issues like attendance, conduct and performance management".capricorn wrote:Just given a STAGE 2 today following 5 weeks sick due to an infection after a prostate biopsy :lfo

Royal Mail managers do not do Man Managemrnt IMHO. I have also worked as a supervisor in other roles and all I see both on this board and in real life is that all the problems seem to stem from one of the following:
Delegation from Higher Management but not as most managers know it. More like I want this done and I want it done this way. Not as it should be, I need this done and how you do it is up to you, if you have problems please call.
Crisis mis-management. IMHO you all see this on a daily basis.
Line Managers are not allowed to make their own decision they always have to go a check with the next tier of management.
Royal Mail seems to fail on one major point, most (not all) Managers do not plan ahead and make contingency plans, they always seem to panic when something out of the ordinary happens.

Really are just yes men. You se then amm scurrying around asking each other and then the next what should be done when something out of the blue happens.
Management should be about getting the job done, of course, but as a team. Discussions, even advice from a subordonate who may see something a bit clearer.
Authority with responsibility. You must have both as a manager or it will not work. If you are given one without the other then you become either a dictator, who gives orders but wont make a decision or just a yes man, who gets all the responsibilty but cant be seen giving an order.
Line managers are given only responsibilty. DOMS are given only authority. Thats why the place is a mess.

thats what has happened.i was supposed to have my interview today..haveagojoe wrote:I,ve got away with being issued a 2 twice now, both times they didn,t follow the correct procedure and failed to give me a back to work interview on my first day back, our rep had them screwed.
but i didnt..
and besides that,i didnt have a back to work interview on my 1st day back neither..so i might be ok touch wood,as they havent giving me a back to work interview and also they assumed what illness i was off with, instead ogf me telling them what was actually wrong with me..
