It's not just the contract you started on but the one which may be reviewed because you question the authority actions or leadership skills or lack of management!Dindin wrote:It's hard to say what is in a new starters contractaiden01 wrote:robbertwhitton wrote:What a bloody cheek, treating you like this, typical management, get to your place of work first at your start time then you can have the conversation in your work time, not before, they’re not content to bully and harass you in work time they want to do it in your own time as well,![]()

Be careful with your car insurance if travelling to another office. My car insurance only covers me to travel to the same place of work everyday.I was told by my insurance if I travelled to different places of work I will need business insurance .

i WILL NOT AND NEVER HAVE GIVEN MY PERSONAL #MOBILE TO ANY EMPLOYER or COLLEAGUE... If the management want me they can call me at home on my landline voicemail or whilst at work i use the phone function of the PDA...and so should they (records, dear chap)...COLLEAGUES need to stick to pre-arranged van share timings/meeting spots or I liase through the office via said PDA phone function AND LET THEM CONTACT THE WALK PARTNER. Comms is not my problem in a communications based industry the mngmnt should provide ALL means of comms NOT rely on your personal # & £. When on leave/hols they also (lads from book room) send me the P194 Form through the pipeline/post; in order to let me know the fore-cast duty/timings/attendance, upon my return to work. Traditional/archaic, but hey, RMG's own method of comms (and jobs sustained, too).NewPostieUK wrote:You are within your rights to NOT EVEN OWN A PHONE.Cloudwatcher wrote: Am I in my right's to switch my mobile phone off until I get to work?
It's your phone you can switch it off or on whenever you like.

I have my phone on Do not Disturb from 10pm to 7am which means no calls or texts get through between those times. Many a time on my week off I've woken up to find voicemails left on my phone from the manager asking if I could work.

ignore em...you are not being paid to listen to their 'management'; until your start time; that is.Jeppol wrote:I have my phone on Do not Disturb from 10pm to 7am which means no calls or texts get through between those times. Don't give them your mobile phone number. Simple
My manager has a contact number of my house phone and that is it. There are no employment laws that I am aware of that state an employer must have your mobile phone number.
