I have an interview tomorrow, any hints or tips?

I see on here it looks like I'm supposed to bring photocopies of my documents? I thought I had to bring originals?

Thank you.

Although I have now copied my documents just to be safe!

Are there any other hints for interview? Do I need to print the health matrix or am I just expected to acknowledge I have looked and accept the level of fitness needed?

Hi, I had my interview 2 weeks ago, you DON'T need to take the health matrix, its just for your reference. The interviewer went through my documents and kept the copies of the originals, driving licence, birth certificate, P60 and I also provided a copy of my driving insurance certificate too as it had my address on. The questions were regarding scenarios you've had to deal with in the past, irate customers, any H&S issues you've dealt with. All in all it took about 40 mins. I was then taken to a point in the yard and asked to read a couple of number plates on the vans. I was then given a brief tour of the DO and was bombarded with information which i've forgotten most of already, redirects, dead mail etc ????. Just calm yourself before you go in, i had a mint to suck on to help me concentrate, but it was quite straight forward stuff. It was only the 2nd interview i'd had in my 39 years, i was unsuccessful originally but 3 days later I got offered a job, so stick at it and you'll be fine, and most of all, relax. If you have any more questions then feel free to ask.

Thank you.

I had my interview this morning and it seemed somewhat informal and relaxed. Not sure what to make of that at the moment but I know they had more people to interview today and tomorrow before they send off the interview papers.

My interview was quite laid back too, chatting about all sorts of things. They use a points based system, I scored very high originally, but 2 people scored higher so they were offered the jobs, then I got the call 3 days later offering a job.

I suggest you read your emails and attachments, as it clearly explains what you need, if you can't follow simple instructions I don't think this job will work out for you

Well that was harsh.

Especially given the fact I have already had my interview and taken the necessary documents.

I am only human and did read the attachment correctly but overlooked the section mentioning photocopies.

Not to sure if this is right place to post this,
I applied for a postman/post woman with driving starting in May 2019 then completed the online test.Totally forgot I had applied for this position. Then received an email on August the 5th to book an interview slot.Booked on for the 20th at 12pm.Turned up for interview 20 mins early, then told to wait in an office where people were getting on with their duties. They were very nice. Was left there till 12.30.Got taken through to do the interview only to discover the original interviewer had left that week to take up another post & had taken all the relevant documents to do with the interview with him. Went through with interview was fairly simple & basically it was all the
Questions which have been posted on here. The interviewer did not know there were interviews booked for the next two days.Felt it was a shambles,He didn’t even know I was coming for an interview. Still waiting as of today to find out if I have been successful or not. The job was advertised in April 2019. Can understand mangers move to different posts but just seemed like a totally lack of organisation.

Everything you need will be in the email you were sent. Read through it, then read through it again.

I appreciate the reply but is there specific things they ask for? I mean i would have thought they ask the same from everyone? My circumstances are alot different as far as my last 5 years in employment goes, i have been a full time carer for over 10 years to my mum so i dont know how that is viewed, does it stop me trying to get a job with RM?

Just trying to get an idea of if i actually stand a chance of employment or does that sort of circumstance rule you out of the running?

Thanks again for any replys.

Your role as a carer should not stop you getting a job with RM so don't be put off. I worked behind a desk in I.T for almost 30 years before joining RM a couple of years ago and we have others at my DO who have worked in completely different jobs before.

When applying for any job it is a good idea to address the requirements of the job in your application/cover letter and you will find this covered in the advert. For example being organised, flexible, happy to work outdoors in all weathers, dealing with customers face to face, physically fit etc.

I cannot remember what documents were needed at the interview. I think it was mainly I.D and driving license etc.

Finally, it can take a while so be patient. I applied 2 or 3 times before getting an interview. I then passed the interview but someone else got the job ahead of me and I was put on a waiting list. 2 weeks later I got a call offering me a job at the same delivery office.

Good luck!

Thank you for taking the time out to reply, I was just worried that as i was a carer and not employed for that peroid they would look at me differently. Im hoping not and that i may get a chance to prove myself.
