LET'S GIVE THE SUB POST OFFICES A VOICE!

Post Office bosses turned to blackmail and spying to make sub-postmasters co- operate with their closure programme.
Postmasters were told exactly how to answer questions from worried customers - and warned that undercover PO staff would check that they complied.
They were also told they could lose compensation payments of up to £60,000 if they failed to parrot the official line.

The letter sets out the 'key messages' to be adhered to - falling customer numbers, change in customer behaviour and rising losses - then adds a startling 'secret police' warning.

It says: 'Representatives of Post Office Limited will visit branches at random, on an anonymous basis, to ensure these "key messagesî are being delivered in an accurate and professional manner.

'Any compensation package offered to you if your branch is selected for closure shall be subject to you having complied, and continuing to comply, up to the date of closure.'

'The Government claims the network is unsustainable, but at least £260m has been lost because ministers decided - against the wishes of many older people - to pay pensions directly into bank accounts.'

The cull will start in Kent and spread rapidly across the country. By the end of next year, 2,500 branches will have shut - more than one in five of the 14,300-strong network

I contacted The National Federation of SubPostmasters (NFSP) a couple of months ago regarding this site and offering them the chance to let their members know about it and for them to get together much like we all have.
Their reply was that they were doing "Their own interactive chat room" thing and ''many thanks for the offer,but it will be up and running soon.''
Well that was 2 months ago and so far there is nothing.
The cull has started now and if you have a look at Teebs post in the Post Office Forum you will see that around 300 or so have been named.

These guys are out on their own and have nowhere to get together like us,but there is somewhere here for them if they knew about it.
If all goes to plan then i will set up their own Forum for them on here,so here's the plan.
I obviously need to contact them and to do that there are costs.

The inital cost is around £40.00 for printer ink,paper and envelopes,this would initially last for quite a while.
Then there are the stamps,£24.00 for each 100.
So you can guess how much money we would roughly need .
There are more than enough on here to get the ball rolling in one go,all we are asking for is regular small donations.
£1.25 after taking Paypals charges off will give us enough for 4 stamps,with the regulars giving that it would be more than enough.
And depending on the timing of the closures announced we will also send out flyers to DO'S and the like to spread the word of the site.
And once again funds permitting there will also be a monthly cash prize draw as an incentive.
Also those who do not have a Paypal account you can PM me for a bank account number where you can give donations through internet banking/direct debit or the like.

Prior to the first stikes i contacted the 5 local subs in my town and provided them with a letter of support from the members of our delivery office and a supply of petitions that they were asked to pass on to their customers and then up to John Hutton to protest against the downgradeing of all postal servises. I even visited each one prior to our strikes and informed them all months before they were officialy notified that shut down for the majority of them was a certainty. DID I GET I REPLY ...........DID I F***!!!! These sole trader buisness men to a man chose not to get involved in a trade union protest. So i have to tell you F*** em they didnt want to know us when we held out the olive branch they are only in it to make money and could not give a dam about the mess our industry is in...
