Need some advise?

Post by smileyjoe30 »

I am about 8 weeks into being a postman now and earlier today I was bit by a dog at the top of my finger while posting an item , I rang 111 while I was out on my round and they do me to go and get scene within an hour. One of the mangers had to come and pick up apparently I am having a conduct meeting next week for this as your told not to put all your fingers/hand through the letter box the problem was this item I was posting got stuck like something was blocking it so I didn’t want to leave it hanging out so I push it through while this was going on I didn’t hear any dog only at the last minute while I was pulling my hand away? My issue is now will this affect my probation period.

I've been in the job 30 years and still occasionally allow my fingers to stray too far.
Anybody who says they don't .........

Oh wow what a pleasant reply my partner who was on with me told me to ring them I would of carried on but when they told me to get scene within an hour I’m sorry but if a heath advisor tells me to go to hospital your not going to just sit there also my partner is a heath a safety rep and he told me it would be fine. Literally can’t believe you have replied with something like that

Jen1 wrote:Yes we all let our fingers stray 2 far but how many of us would ring 111 coz a dog nipped them?
I've seen fingers taken off at the knuckle when they've strayed too far.
Since you've no idea of the extent of the injury your comment is pointless and unnecessary.

It’s more of the point if the dog had something and could possibly have gave me something like I said I would of carried on but they told me to go to the nearest hospital within an hour i was given an X-ray a tetanus jab 7 days of antibiotics because I had temp imagine I had left it eh? Quite pointless ringing 111 though isn’t it ?

Stop spamming the thread with your issues.

Posts removed for multiple issues:

1. Use of expletives - against the rules.
2. Trying to mask the expletives.
3. Using text speech.

But most importantly it was somebody asking for advice, give advice, don't unload on them or give them grief. If you don't agree with what they did then respond in a polite manner.

Ok well that told me!

As my dad taught me if u r the only 1 that's right & everyone else is wrong u r usually wrong!

So my sincerest apologies smileyjoe & u r right if u have a temperature following a dog bite u should c a doctor

Obviously I would of waited until I'd finished my round but I guess that's just me & my opinion & judging from the response on here I'm wrong & u r right

Maybe woody is right maybe I have some issues possibly regarding the NHS

I did not realize I had issues so I'm sorry for offloading onto u

I sometimes forget that not everyone thinks like me & we all have different opinions

The fact that everyone on here seems to agree with you And most definitely thinks I was rude tells me that I'm probably in the wrong

So I'm sorry if I was a total dickhead & I hope there's no hard feelings if there is feel free 2 jump all over my thread if it helps

I'll get back under my bridge now!

Sorry for the text speak but I'm doing this on my antique phone because I've tried to reply on the computer but I get distracted by the really cool smiley face things & forget what I was writing

Also surely everyone knows WTF means what the flip if there's a cheeky smiley face I'd put that there but can't find them on the mobile site

Think some of your rules r a little harsh TrueBlue but I think I got the most important message
