it would be a big slap in the face for the noobs at hq who negotiated this deal..hopefully they will have the decency to resign if its a no vote..

Most of it's done by machine so results should be available on the 27th but with the communications worker unions communication skills it all take at least a week for us to find out the result, unless it's a yes.

i have no doubt it will be a no vote so rm will bring it in anyway so who will cordinate industrial action because our so called leaders have made their backing for this crap public

The Union will - they work for us we pay their exorbitant wages so if the membership says no they have to go back to Royal Mail and try again. If necessary they should also call us out again.

Shoot me down if this is not possible but could we deliver the publics mail and not any of our competitors (DHL, TNT etc) as its obvious that this Gov wants to look after big business and sh+t all over small business, this way we keep the public on our side and small business as well.
I know they could threat to suspend you or worse but if we all did this ?
Surely we have ground for this as we are losing money on this type of mail.

If not overtime ban and cutting off are the only option for most people because strike action loses you to much money and you can come out with what i could lose as much as you want (pensions overtime etc) but i live for today not tomorrow and my kids want presents this year not next.
sorry but striking has failed for whatever reason and i don't want to have to to that again if alternatives are available.

Still voting NO though

We would lose even more money because they would take us to the cleaners for failing to fulfil a contract. Postcomm would be unable to stave off the claims for both compensation and damages - we have only escaped as a company this time because official industrial action is legal - I suspect cherry picking what we deliver isn't, particularly because we are required by law to open the network to competition.

what exacly do WE want, vote no is fine but we look too negative not offering an alternative . Can we not use this forum to gather ideas WHAT WE WILL DO for x% rise over 2YEARS. New mech trays in the future will give roads in number order and will affect prep time, amount of time unknown. Let's bypass the union ( if we have to) and use our experience and knowledge to provide an alternative driven by grass roots postman.

best bet would be all out after Christmas and hurt Royal Mail then ..... when Buisness mail is at it's peak for those 2 or 3 weeks after Christmas and New Year :lfo :cfo

Let's be honest here, if you vote no we could possibly be looking at further strike action, vote yes and we could still be facing further strike action.

Q: What's the difference?

A: If we vote yes, the Pay & Modernisation Agreement leaves negotiations at LOCAL level, therefore if we can't agree on an issue locally, we'll go to disagreement and at stage 3 of the disagreement process management will say "all the issues i.e.; flexible working, ect, ect, ect, were trialled in the trial offices under phase 2 of the agreement and accepted as best case scenarios, therefore you have to agree to one of them, if you don't we'll implement what we want via executive action." At this point the Local Rep will call for a rule 13 ballot for industrial action, FOR THAT OFFICE ONLY, we'll then see some offices out on strike and not others, (divide and conquer me thinks).

If we vote NO we could possibly be facing more NATIONAL industrial action, and I emphasize the NATIONAL.

SOLIDARITY IN NUMBERS IS STRENGTH

Just one other point to consider, when we take NATIONAL industrial action, the regulator doesn't fine the business. If we take localised industrial action the business will be fined, it won't be long before all the profits are spent on fines and there's no money left to pay the already near on impossible share schemes, future pay increases ect, ect, ect.

Good thing or bad thing? Or is this just going to be another thing Royal Mail will threaten us with to make us all conform?

Have to say that I hear loads of comments on here about the worry of what the public will say if we strike before Xmas.

Now is the time to start worrying about your own life, not whether someone gets a Xmas card or not.

Not getting a card wont change their life, but by god if we dont use Xmas to beat them with your life will definetely change and not for the better.

We may lose some public support, but afterwards I am sure we will be able to explain why it had to be done and most will agree, I think.

VOTE NO.........STRIKE HARD BEFORE XMAS.

so where would this media campaign be fought?!?
...and what would it say? "please don't close our offices, sack the posties and/or make them work harder
so that RM can compete with the private sector..."?
but aren't the RM gaffers also directors of TNT and other private mail carriers?

unoin should be trying to unionise these private mail carriers anyway.....

Business Post allegedly pay NMW and have threatened to sack anyone who joins a union. All the more reason to recruit .

Not to sure where though

,but ive been at meetings and read info where the CWU are moving in to different companys and recruiting people in to the union,Maybe someone else on the site knows a bit more.
