I’ve been working as a postie just over 4 weeks now and just have a few questions that seem to be easier to ask on here then speak to my managers who haven’t really said more than a sentence to me since my first day.
I was first told i’d be having 6 weeks ‘training’ on the same walk and then made a ‘spare’. Does that mean I’ll just be turning up and sent out anywhere with anyone?
How long will I be made a ‘spare’ for? Do most posties have their own usual walk and how long until this happens?
I was told I would get a rotating day off each week which is great but so far I’ve had every Tuesday off which is the easiest day, am I entitled to a rotating day off?
I rang the MyBundle helpline asking to sign up but was told my details haven’t been sent to them by HR, is this because I haven’t been working there long enough? Any answers greatly appreciated

Rotating day off for new starters means every Tuesday.

Get onto your office union rep about the Tuesday's off only malarkey. It's a s**t trick by management but one that most posties without their own walk have experienced. It needs nipping in the bud sharpish. Yes as a spare you'll be working at the whim of the managers covering people's days and weeks off. As to how long it'll take to get your own walk... How long is a piece of string? Depends on the turnover of staff and the amount of people who've been in the business longer than yourself that are also spares.
As to the MyBundle, probably due to the manager not getting his finger out.

Welcome to the madhouse.

Not really, I'm a few months in the job and my day off is different every week, it depends on the duty that I cover. Most of the duties have rotational day off and I get the same day off as the people that are permanent on that duty, never Saturdays.

That's how it's reputed to work but it doesn't Screws change the rotational day of the duty to suit their needs. All being even, by chance alone you should get the occasional Saturday but you don't? Something is rotten in the state of Denmark and has been for years.
Union do f**k all about it and never have as long as they're getting their 1 in 6.

Same here, in my 7 weeks with RM I’ve even had 3 Saturdays off.
