Heard a rumour my probation is going to be extended

I was just wondering if anyone had similar experience? I heard through a colleague who I don’t know how he knew but he told me about some other stuff before I found out myself so maybe he is a credible source. He also said someone who started at the same time as me will probably be fired. I’ve been there 3 months but in one of my emails it said the probation is 6 months. But quite a few people have said it’s actually 3 months so I’m not sure. I have got back late a couple of times a week usually especially if I don’t know the route too well. But I don’t make a lot of mistakes recently. Are these just scare tactics or will I need to seriously improve?

Yeah I did get some towards the beginning of my time there but I rarely get them now

I would also like to know more about this what are the chances of people passing there probation at royal mail? Alot of people have told me not to worry as they dont like getting rid of people so unless your on sick alot or really failing in your peformance everything should be fine.

Probation is 6 months.

At induction the conversation got onto transferring DO. We all felt really positive until the person taking the induction said “you can request a transfer once your probation is complete - that’s if it doesn’t get extended!”

Nothing like making you loose all positivity before you even start!

Mine was 12months initially but it got extended because I went sick and got a stage. Probation being extended is nothing too much to worry about, its just their way of trying to control you.
