Delivery Supplement
Recently for family reasons dropped down to 30 hours contract on Delivery. The 8 hours lost mean I don't do I/P. But lineo says I Still have to prep my D2D contract, which I do each work.
However I ve noticed that my Delivery Supplement has dropped from £25.66 pw to £18.91. ( so its obviously pro rata according to the hours I am now contracted ) should I not therefore being prepping a pro rata amount of D2Ds / Households. Why do I get paid circa £7 a week less when I am prepping and delivering the same amount of D2Ds as before?
Obviously I Know colleagues on collections get Delivery Supplement and don't ever touch a D2D . Are they linked, Is this something the Union negotiated in Pay some time back. Shouldn't it just be an equal share for whatever comes into the office?

Delivery Supplement
As above, the Delivery Supplement is nothing to do with door-to-doors.
I am on a 30 hour contract and get £20.26 a week Delivery Supplement, your £18.91 a week is the pro-rata rate for a 28 hour contract.

Only based on the hours you work. What work you do in those hours is irrelevant. Brush the floor. Do D2D all day. Who cares. You get paid the same.

I am going to get moaned at & told I am wrong but I will write this again as your question is related to it.magicw wrote:Recently for family reasons dropped down to 30 hours contract on Delivery. According to the DOM and union rep in our DO & as I still recall from the time it was changed the following is correct:
Originally how the D2D payment system worked was that only delivery staff who actually prepped & delivered the D2Ds would get paid for dealing with them. The payments varied between about 1.67p & 4.50p per item based on the size of the D2D item. At the time cover & reserve staff would sometimes complain that they didn't receive the D2D payments.
When RM changed the D2D system we were told there would instead be a standard payment per week of £20 which every staff member in RM would receive even if they maybe didn't even touch the D2Ds let alone deliver them! To my mind this was bonkers but the CWU liked it as it seemed 'fairer' to them therefore they gave it the thumbs up. In addition everyone would receive this money 52 weeks of the year including the Xmas weeks and when we had annual leave weeks. Some posties were of the opinion that this change was a better system but taking inflation into consideration the old system was better. This £20 forms part of the supplement that is listed on your pay slips.
The views I express here are mine alone and do not represent the views of Royal Mail Group.

What do you mean, taking inflation in to account? The unit payment never increased.Celgar wrote:I am going to get moaned at & told I am wrong but I will write this again as your question is related to it.magicw wrote:Recently for family reasons dropped down to 30 hours contract on Delivery. Whereas the delivery supplement increases in line with any pay increase percentage!
Not only is the current way better, it isn't even a contest.

RM wanted to remove the unit payment for D2D completely.Celgar wrote:

The CWU negotiated for the money being paid out in D2D payment to be converted to a supplement.
The standard payment of £20 (now more) was not for every RM staff member as you state but only those in delivery.
Other functions get a different level of supplement.
I agree with the last sentiment.
It isn't even a contest.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Cheers. Reckoned the CWU had probably got the best result for every one under pay and allowances and it wasn't actually linked to D2D prep. Bottom line in my case is that they have fecked my contract up, only getting 28 hours instead of 30. Until its sorted Im doing Zero indoor Prep, including D2Ds

Possibly a bad idea, they might conduct code you. Everyone's 318 says something like "or as directed" so unless you've a medical reason or it's something you're not trained for (eg working on a machine, in the SD locker, etc) they can have you do whatever they want within your duty hoursmagicw wrote:Cheers. Some collection staff do get the delivery supplment, but to do so they need to be tied to a Delivery Office and/or perform something in the delivery function. In huddersfield we have collection staff some get the Delivery Supplement and some don't.Celgar wrote: Obviously, I Know colleagues on collections get Delivery Supplement and don't ever touch a D2D .
Only those delivering them got the D2D payment, preppers didn't unless you count prepping their own.Celgar wrote:According to the DOM and union rep in our DO & as I still recall from the time it was changed the following is correct:

Incorrect totally incorrect. There are different functional supplements, Processing, Collections Walk Bundling, and the Delivery Supplement is the biggest amount, Processing IIRC started at £8 a week against ours of £21 + . All of them are pro-rata.

If you are working 30 hours and having to claim 2 hours every week, the Delivery Supplement is included with the SSPR overtime rate.magicw wrote:Cheers. Thats what I said to them and Thought. To be honest at the moment they are just making it up as they go along. The effect on other deductions and allowances such as POAL. DBDCS pension SSPR and OT . its all fecked up. All they keep saying is it will all come out in the wash. We have a new DOM on average every month, and nothing gets updated on ECR very quickly if at all.
