Well since Labour cannot come out with definitive position we wait. Yet the conservative party has elected two one hunt and the other another a clown to be voted by pig headed intolerant clowns guess who is going to win? It will come as no surprise one day we all will lose our freedom of speech with this odious man at the helm of our once great nation!

Have you never considered that these "pig-headed intolerant clowns" were voted in because the electorate preferred them (bad as they are) to the alternative of Corbyn, Abbot and MacDonnell?
Those three are about the only thing the Tories have going for them at present.

What do you mean "One Day" We already have to a certain degree.

I was replying to MarshallAmp's claim that Freedom of Speech has been eroded.
I don't understand why that simple enough reply somehow leads to your assertions regarding what paper you think I read (or pictures I look at). Is there any connection, or was it just the need to write something/anything in response?

The old "You're a Sun/Express/Mail/Guardian/etc reader" as some sort of put-down has long since worn thin.

I don't think freedom of speech has diminished, I think there are just so many squaking voices now on Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms that chances are you've just nothing new to say that hasn't been said a million times before.

Sometimes you have to face the fact that your voice isn't being heard not because you're being silenced but purely because nobody is listening.

Apart from MI5 MI6 but silence is golden to those who seek power not we than can silence the neighbours in the flat next to you or the papers or internet as is now the case but do we really need people of this calibre in high office?

My gut feeling is that we're going to end up with a General Election one way or another within six months. A good few MPs don't want a no deal Brexit but the default position in law is no deal and they've rejected the deal 3 times. If when it comes to October the EU say no more extensions then it defaults to no deal anyway.

You've got Parliaments summer recess coming up, then you've got the party political conference season straight after that so there's not going to be much time left in parliament to deal with it

As most people understand it isn't about the row or the red wine it's about his decision making and integrity which you would hope at least to be two of the most important characteristics of a decent PM.

Only a moron would choose to have a blazing and thanks to the volume public row in the middle of a PM selection process and only a complete coward would choose to try to hide from the obvious questions that row would provoke.

He's a moron and a coward and there isn't any need to read anything else into the row to understand that. Fair enough everybody has rows but not everybody is trying to land the top political job in the country. It's indefensible stupidity and it's not really a great time for the UK to have a dumb as a box of rocks Prime Minister.

It's not about red wine, I expect Boris Johnson can well afford to have a sofa cleaned or replaced. It's more about his entitled attitude. His partner, who he left his long-suffering family for last year, is a Tory PR adviser, ie spin doctor.
She is reported as having been heard and recorded saying 'You just don't care for anything because you're spoilt. You have no care for money or anything'.
This is a reflection on his character. It wouldn't matter if he was just another run of the mill posh rich Old Etonian who can afford to throw money away. But it is relevant for someone who is probably going to be Prime Minister, in charge of the UK's finances.
And the neighbours heard screaming, crashes, and her shouting 'Get off me'. We don't know what was happening but it should be of concern to anyone, especially women.

And what do you think would be the response of the Telegraph, Johnson apologists, and you, if it was the Leader of the Opposition who was involved rather than the probable next Conservative Prime Minister?

I'm very flattered that you actually took the time to search posts going back a couple of years, but somehow equating a post about Mail Tory propaganda to the cliche'd put down of "You're a Sun/Express/Mail/etc reader" seems rather desperate. I suppose the tenuous link is the word "Mail"..

"Most people" probably do understand that, but "most people" probably also understand that it's little more than a media-manufactured story, and isn't going to change the vote to lead the Tories in the slightest.
There are many things to criticise and dislike Johnson for, and the media ought to be concentrating on those rather than irrelevant nonsense like this.

I don't think freedom of speech has diminished either but I think that democracy will be if we are somehow forced to have another vote. Nothing would send a clear message to the general public that your vote is irrelevant because certain people of influence in London i.e. MPs, journalists and lawyers don't agree with the vote and still want us to remain in the EU. And that really is the top and bottom of it.
