What to wear on your first day while waiting for uniform

I have seen on a thread on here about what to wear on there first day but it will be interesting to know what people wore on there first day before there uniform came? What’s the best footwear etc? Trousers ?Also I have heard different things about how you order the uniform some have it there by there first day some have to wait a bit? Just don’t want to go out and spend a fortune on new things if there’s not a long wait etc.

I wore a tracksuit and trainers but you need plenty of pockets. You just need a payroll number to order uniform. Shouldn't have to wait long though

I have a payroll number on my contract but not sure of what number to contact etc

Would shorts be okay with deep pockets and jacket? I ordered my uniform today so should be here by friday
