not very , managers with "issues " get very excited when a automatic stage 2 warning is issued . It can back fire on RM though , people's vindictiveness & unprofessionalisim wouldn't look good outside Planet RM , especially when they can't follow their own procedures . Look at that AOD case and absences stemming from it . A Tribunal Chairman would strike RM's "case" out as it's illegal under employment law being a H&S case .meweavy wrote:just out of curiosity..i wanted to know how many on here or posties you know on a stage 2 attendance warning.

Last june i was off for three month, My manager told me that the will be a stage one warning to be given to me and that he will give me the standard official stage one meeting the week after. Its been a nearly 15months since he told me that and i have still yet to be officially given a stage one warning. Would they still issue me that after so long?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I am on a stage two now.
I had an injury at work. Paid for my own MRI scan (£500.00) and delayed and operation so that I would work through the xmas pressure, to help out.
My thanks was a DOM nearly cummin in his pants as my stage letter arrived on his desk.
No doubt in my mind that he saw brownie points.
He rattled through it until I pointed out the sacrifices I had made.
His faced dropped and I asked if it was possible to get the union involved. He cleared his mess up and didn't issue it.
Stand firm unless you KNOW it is right. Its not illegal to be sick.

from what ive heard even if you are in hospital, they will still try and put you through procedure once you come out...thats just wrong.
]
if youre in hospital then royal mail shoudlnt be allowed to touch you..when it comes to attendance procedure..

Orders from High are "It will & it must be 60/40%" , they've had their fingers burnt paying up all those 15 layers of management , that's why they want bare minimum notice and rid of MTSF .Gazza wrote:My main point was the total glee on the DOM's face, when he thought he had me.
I feel there is an agenda here. Brownie points for sackings etc.
From experience of a previous industry , RM would want their grubby/ dirty hands on people's pension money , the staff paper always used to brag about that , there was even a case when Mgrs knew that a retiring Office Worker would going out for drinks at lunchtime , so they got managers to spy on him & his mates and sacked them all for drinking .All over the staff paper .
I've seen a Inspector win a Tribunal & the Union had to fight tooth & nail to get his pension money back when he was reinstated with a very chilling ,sinister manager .
We can all rest assured that Crozier & his Senior Managers will always get their pensions ,as they are convientally in a different scheme. :cfo :cfo :lfo

Yes you are corect for line manger's have to ok it with their DOM first before they give you "their desion?" as to issue or not as the case maybe! IF THEY LET YOU "OFF" THEY COULD BE DOWN THE ROAD THEMSELF'S!norbet colon wrote:Orders from High are "It will & it must be 60/40%" , they've had their fingers burnt paying up all those 15 layers of management , that's why they want bare minimum notice and rid of MTSF .Gazza wrote:My main point was the total glee on the DOM's face, when he thought he had me.

If I was a manager I would never be able to go home, look my wife in the eye, and tell I had had a good day at work.
I have managed before and always prided myself on the fact that I MANAGED the staff. Trusting them and hoping they trusted me. Get the job done with minimum of fuss.
This lot seem hellbent on pissing all and sundrie off and do not give a s**t!!! Sad sad little people.
