So I worked for Royal Mail as a postie when I was 18 for about a year and now I'm 35, at the time I had a box of mail that I hadn't delivered from a few days before basically becuase I was being a lazy 18 year old trying to get home to bed quicker, they found it and I was given 4 weeks notice that I had to leave my job. How long do they keep records of previous employees, if I apply again and don't mention I worked there will they know? I really would like to do the job again and im no longer a lazy teenager but I don't imagine they would employ someone who was asked to leave before?

No mate, you would be better telling them as they will find out in the security checks which are much more in-depth these days than in the past. But it was willfull delay of mail, so I am 99% sure that you've no chance to get back in. Sorry.
