Like everywhere else our nights are due to go by the end of June and the way local management have handled this has been nothing short of disgraceful. The first we knew of this, is when one saturday this March
the night crew were left a letter each giving us three choices,to accept voluntary redundentsy,go back on days or if a duty is not available locally to work elsewhere. This all came as a shock to us and I have never known such poor management.Anyway lets hope that there is a yes vote and this will signal the end of inept managers.

good post daysleeper.im also a night indoor sorter and have seen our duties on nights shrink from 14 to 6 in last few years mostly through e.v.r's.we had a wtl last week and asked what the reasons were for royal mail scrapping all nights, the answer was the work coming in later due to the fact our 600 was now limited to 56mph.strange that the 600 our drivers have been using have been limited to 56mph for quite a while now and our last run still gets back before 6.30!also it was pointed out that the route from our office to watford mail centre is mostly 50mph restrictions.i for one cant see how scrapping the nights will improve the service to customers,it just means the mail will be delivered later and later to customers.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
