Shane Ramsay, 31, a cleaning specialist from Cambridge, was in his car in Birdwood Road before he was hit.
An aggrieved driver whose car was crashed into by a Royal Mail vehicle claims the company hasn't fixed his Toyota well enough - and it's now too late to claim on insurance.
Royal Mail argues that the faults it hasn't repaired were present before the crash, but driver Shane Ramsay disputes this.
Mr Ramsay, 31, a cleaning specialist from Cambridge, was in his Toyota Yaris at around 2.15pm in Birdwood Road on March 6 - before being hit by a Royal Mail van.
Mr Ramsay, who lives in Cherry Hinton, claimed the damage was so bad that the car wasn't roadworthy.

Mr Ramsay claimed the driver of the van did not want him to go to his insurance company, but instead passed him contact details of Royal Mail's solicitors. The Royal Mail driver then drove off.
Mr Ramsay claims that having not been in a car accident before and trusting the solicitors, he was told by the van driver to get it fixed privately through them.
Over the course of a month, Mr Ramsay claimed he liaised with the solicitors to fix the car with its engineering company.
Royal Mail provided evidence that over £4000 of parts and labour were spent on his car which he says is worth £6000. But the engineer still commented that the vehicle was not roadworthy.
Mr Ramsay claims his vehicle's bumper is not fitted properly, the car pulls to the left, and a loud rubbing noise can be heard when he drives the car.
Mr Ramsay claims he contacted the company's solicitors to try and get more repairs, but he says the lawyers argue that the leftover damage the engineers did not repair was from before the accident.
He says they cited uneven tyre wear mentioned in his last MOT as evidence the Toyota was already pulling to the left.
Mr Ramsay however argues that his last MOT says his tyre treads were of a legal standard.
But after contacting his insurance company to claim for the disputed damages, he found that he had exceeded the 28-day limit to claim. This means he's unable to claim cash to make any further repairs.
Mr Ramsay is angry with Royal Mail, claiming that he lost out on work because of the crash.
"It's disgusting," claimed Mr Ramsay. "Firstly, they left me on the side of the road after the crash with a phone number.
"Now, my car isn't even fixed properly.
"What's worse is that I use it for my livelihood. This has messed my life up.
"I've already missed out on three jobs because my car was being fixed.
"I don't get paid monthly. If I don't get money for my jobs then I'm not going to be in a good way.
"They didn't even ask me for the value of my car or give me an estimated value of the damage - which is really strange.
"I'd never been in an accident before, I trusted them."
Mr Ramsay said he can no longer ask his insurance to help pay for the damage.
"I'm kicking myself because I had to make my claim within 28 days," he said.
"My main concern is if it happens to someone else.
"Make sure you sort it out with your own insurance company when it happens."
What should you record when you're involved in an accident?
The AA has listed a number of things you need to do when you're involved in an accident.
The make, model, colour and number plate of the vehicles involved in the accident or take pictures of them
The time and date of the crash
The driving conditions, including the weather, lighting and road quality (such as road markings, whether its wet or muddy, repair of the road surface).
What sort of damage was caused to the vehicles and where - nearside front wing and door (nearside is the left side of your car, offside is the drivers side).
Any injuries to drivers, passengers, or pedestrians.
The names and contact details of any witnesses.
Use your phone to take pictures of the scene, the positions of the cars involved, and damage to the cars
Mr Ramsay added that he will now be taking the car to get reviewed at an independent engineer's to assess the damage.
The solicitors' response to Mr Ramsay after he complained
MR Ramsay "claims" he was hit.
Mr Ramsay claims the driver refused to give him insurance details but mysteriously did have the full details of Royal Mails solicitors which Drivers are not routinely given. However, their insurance details can be gained with a single phone call.
Mr Ramsay failed to inform his insurers of a notifiable collision which invalidates his insurance.
Mr Ramsey claims that at no point despite being someone who drives for work did it occur to him he should contact his insurers. Not being in an accident does not excuse this lack of basic knowledge and ignorance of the terms of his insurance.
When asked about the response from Royal Mail, Mr Ramsey decided to provide an unrelated letter from his solicitors to himself.
They point out the Uneven tread which caused a notification in his MOT, Mr Ramsey counters with completely unrelated comments about his tread being legal which wasn't what they said.
Mr Ramsey can provide no proof the damage was caused by the other car, his actions at the scene were extremely remiss.
Yet you've chosen to cover this story without any actual questions being asked of Mr Ramsey.

This story smells of bull*** to me, assuming he was fully comp he should've contacted his insurance, car would have gone straight for repair,he would have got a courtesy car from the repairers, his insurer would have dealt with RM .
