Operational Postal Grade Description

This new grade includes all work and tasks associated with the physical handling and distribution of Service Delivery products from collection, processing through to delivery including driving work. It includes the use of automated machinery and equipment and the minor maintenance of such equipment (TPM). Also covered are supporting administrative work associated with day-to-day operations (e.g. bookrooms, revenue protection) training of individuals and work on customer premises such as mailrooms, including all tasks previously recognised separately through the payment of allowances.

Thats the official description.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Ask politely instead of spamming the board with obvious incorrect and out of context responses and people may be willing to help. :arrrghhh :arrrghhh :arrrghhh

i wear my own because the Magnum boots gave me shin splints. i've got a pair of the Flexi trainers which are better but prefer my own with a decent set of insoles and nobody has really said anything. wear what is comfortable and look after your feet.

The sad thing is though, if you were unfortunate to have a fall while wearing your own footwear, management would probably conduct you for not wearing appropriate issued footwear and find you blame worthy..

If you have an accident on duty and are not wearing RM footwear, you can be refused sick pay and no compo. Better to stash an old pair in the van/locker for a quick change of you do have an accident. RM, these days anyway will try and screw you out of money at every possible turn. Play the game and win. They aren't that bright if your savy.
