Safe to hand in notice to current job yet?
I have recently had an offer with an induction date and a start date subject to pre employment checks to security checks ,I have emailed over my Digital Image over and have sent my bank details and any holidays I have booked etc, Is this normal before pre employment checks etc? Would you now say it’s safe to hand in my notice now for my current job as now I’m just waiting for the pre employment checks and security checks, Also is it possible to fail the pre employment check and has this ever happened to anyone?

I suppose it could fail
But if you've generally got no criminal record, and not got a history of child porn, I can't see whyd you fail pre checks
I handed my notice in before this stage

I was wondering the same. Got my conditional offer last week, just waiting on checks. I only have a 4 week notice period, but start date is 6 weeks away so I’m thinking I will leave it until next week. Having that ‘I know something you don’t know’ feeling at work is fun, certainly makes the day less stressful

Hi there have you heard anything yet? It’s been about 12 days now since I was given a start date but still nothing on the security checks or employment checks.lisag42 wrote:Yes, sent them on Thursday. I had an email last Monday to say all pre-employment checks are now complete, so I assume that’s security & employment. Did the deed this morning, notice handed in, definitely made going into work at 3.30am on a bank holiday a lot easiersmileyjoe30 wrote:Hi there have you heard anything yet? Congratulations I am going to hand mine in this week hopefully all the checks will be back by then , When’s your start date I’m assuming yours is before mine as you’ve had the checks back quicker.lisag42 wrote:I had an email last Monday to say all pre-employment checks are now complete, so I assume that’s security & employment. Don't start until 28th May as I had holidays booked. My 4 wks notice officially ends on last day of my hols but I have a feeling they will make me return for 2 more night shifts which I don’t fancy after a week off

My start date is a about 2 and a bit weeks after yours so that’s most likely why it’s taken so long. Good luck in your new role and enjoy it :)
