Dont know about you fellas, but i got 17 years in the pension scheme. I have an appointment with an impartial financial adviser and considering moving my pension private. 10 years ago some peeps wondered away from the scheme and regretted it, but with whats happening, private pensions might lesson the blow to all o us.
We considered this a good pension years ago because the company put in an equal stake, those days are over.........

TBH i find the pension booklet baffling at best, some people at work walk around stating, once i get 30 years service in the best i can hope for is 30/60 or 40/80 depending on whos view it is. Other times im told im losing £2,000 a year outta that. As a postman , i earn around £18,000 yr basic pensionable pay, thats £9,000 pension a year, take away £2,000 an thats barely liveable.

Anyone take the time to write a thread about the pension, with true facts that are easy to understand?

it would be good to hear about it. I've been looking into a bit. Gets even more confusing as there are 3 different schemes depending on when you joined...or something. ah it's getting late!

Dont even think about it moon71. It will be the biggest financial mistake you will ever make in your life. Those benefits you have built up over 17 years are gold plated and can NEVER be removed. Put it in a personal pension and you could lose the lot . It's a no brainer!!!!!!!!!
