New start hours

Basically I’m starting Royal Mail in the middle of may and I called up the depo to ask about my hours and they said that I’m going to be working 25 hours a week contracted Monday to Saturday with 5 weeks on and 1 week off and my shift will start at half 9 and also that I get every 6th Saturday off.
But what I don’t get is will I be doing 4 hour shifts each day and will I get paid for that one week off?

I'm a newbie going in to my 5th week doing these hours. The hours are 9.30 til 2.30 for 6 days. That's what pays for the week off

Not common, and it should be mentioned at some point in the recruitment process anyway.

No I don't think it's common. I'm sure you would have been told about it

Thanks. Wasn’t mention, not said it’s 25 hrs over 5 days so off every Sunday plus one other day in the week so hopefully I’m safe from that, for now.

Oh ok, I think that’s what the hours I will be doing then, so in that week off will I be able to book overtime?

Yes you can work your week off as overtime if you want. I'm approaching my first 1 and I'm dying for the rest!
