Only way I can think of for it to work would be for all SDs and Tracked to go out separately

From this day forward it is every day off covers duty to f**k up the PDA Actuals by doing every walk differently.

Today a duty had 1/4 taken off them. They still brought back a quarter and that was mopped up later on o/t.
Any actual deliveries times were f**k all like the arranged times.

It looks like another example of a proposition made by someone who has no idea of the practicality.
If we were only delivering parcels which were guaranteed to actually go out for delivery, it would probably work, but with the daily RM screw ups, lapsing, absence, unexpected bulk postings (yes, someone knows, but not the delivery postie), poor management, and many others, it can’t and won’t work.

How do they know which way I do my walk? I don't do it to the frame that is for sure and on a Saturday I do it differently ,so unless they are going to start telling me to do it to the frame,which is logistically ridiculous then I will do it as I please ,not as they want.

The PDA's know all mate.

they know where and when you are roughly at any given time, they have been watching you for the last year. ;)

So I gather,but that's pervy in my opinion and if my manager gets off on watching me , he's more of a weirdo than I thought. however I thought it was 24 hrs out of date anyway? On a Tuesday I can be at Acacia Avenue by 12:30, on a Wednesday it's an hour later,customers have said to me several times "oh, you're early! Tracking our parcel said you'd be here between such and such a time". There are so many variables ,it's utterly absurd

I'm sure the PDA data can tell the difference between where you will be on a Tues and on a Wed nbased on the averages of data from the preceding weeks.

Had one of our lads return from his walk saying a punter complimented him on his timekeeping as he arrived within the time slot they had been given. Sadly he didn't have the parcel as it was too big and was attempted much later.

So what happens if a customer receives their time slot for the next day and then the postie phones in sick so the walk goes out on o/t or is lapsed so the delivery is all out of kilter. Also how will they deal with walks that are lapsed, sometimes we do ours on the way out and other days we do it on the way back so could be 5 hours difference.

You will deliver between 9-10 if they say so

Is this now actually proper live and not just being trialled? If it is it might mean that there's less time for walk sequencing on wave 2 to get the stuff out to the DOs in time

must be live now, i had 3 specials at the end of my round and as i dont normally get there until after 2 i did the whole round backwards today, when i got to where the first loop normally is i had a rather irate 'my tracking says you shoulda bin here by 930 its 145 now where ya bloody bin..'

So what takes priority nowadays then?

must be live now, i had 3 specials at the end of my round and as i dont normally get there until after 2 i did the whole round backwards today, when i got to where the first loop normally is i had a rather irate 'my tracking says you shoulda bin here by 930 its 145 now where ya bloody bin..'

Best practice is to have a marker on your frame as to where you will be by 1pm.
Any Special Deliveries after that marker should go with a driver to ensure the 1pm specification is met.
You do your duty as normal.

Not seen the tracking timing notifications myself. I suspect they say estimated time of delivery or somesuch wording with a get out clause
in T&C's or small print, but of course the recipient will just take the time it says on the text as the gospel truth!

Not been told otherwise so 'Specials' remain the priority.
